A wild fox tried to "conceal the evidence" after it snagged a mouthful of hot dogs during a cookout in Canada, according to authorities.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said officers were called around dinnertime on May 11 after receiving a report involving stolen BBQ goods.

"Officers attended the area in search of a suspect described as having red hair, being short in stature, and wearing a thick coat," police wrote on social media.

The post included a photo of the fox with what appeared to be at least six hot dogs clenched between its teeth.

"After a brief investigation, the suspect was located attempting to conceal the evidence nearby," police noted.
"The suspect was released without conditions -- and a full belly!" police added.
