South Carolina Man Strangled His Mother, Dumped Body In The Edisto River

Terry Lee Self Jr., 37, is charged with murder, according to an arrest warrant.

"A canoer found the body of the suspect’s mother in the Edisto River Dec. 3,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. "Detectives confirmed the suspect and his mother were at the suspect’s house and left there together after an argument."

The victim was identified as Regina Arroyo, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

Koon said the evidence in the case indicates Self used a ligature to strangle Arroyo.

“After he killed Ms. Arroyo, Self then dumped her body in the river and left," Koon said

WOW so much SC news today-and I am reading it all on here, nothing local on my news here! None it it surprising-SC is well...SC And the Edisto River is nice-my family and I went tubing on it last year for the 4th-some kind of "tradition" around here. Damn shame it's been used as a dumping ground for MURDER-off with his head!!!!!!!!!!!
