YouTube stars Cole and Savannah LaBrant are getting slammed for a cruel prank in which they brought their six-year-old daughter Everleigh to tears after telling her they were giving away her puppy.

On Monday, April Fools' Day, the couple posted a video on their family YouTube channel, titled 'We Have to Give Our Puppy Away... Saying Goodbye Forever.' The 14-minute clip appears to be a typical vlog up until the halfway point, when the camera pans to Everleigh lying face down on the couch.

Cole, 22, explains they had just shared 'sad news' with the little girl before pulling a pillow off her and asking her if she wants to talk about what's happening.

'Ev, do you wanna talk? Are you OK?' he asks, prompting her to shake her head no.

After rubbing her back and repeatedly asking what is wrong, he finally cajoles her to get up, revealing her tear-stained face for the camera. The little girl sniffles as she cuddles up to her mom, who is also holding their three-month-old daughter Posie.

Cole asks Everleigh if she wants to 'tell the vlog' what is going on, but she refuses. Savannah jumps in and says that they are giving their dog Carl away to somebody else because they 'can't take good enough care of him.'

Everleigh is clutching Carl in her arms as her mom explains that he needs to be taken outside more often because he 'poops and pees all over our house.'

When he asks if she is going to miss him, Everleigh just nods while her mom smiles next to her.

Cole announces that they have one last thing to tell her, and Savannah leans over to whisper, 'April Fools!' in her ear. They explain that they are filming their April Fools' Day video, but Everleigh is not amused.

Everleigh bursts into tears again. 'Too far?' Cole asks the camera.

The parents claim to be surprised by Everleigh's response to the news, insisting that they didn't even think the six-year-old was going to fall for it because they had been pranking each other all day.

At least it is going to make Ev super love Carl now,' Cole says while Everleigh lies on the couch with the dog wrapped in her arms.

My mum was like this. Like the time 'Santa didn't bring me any presents because I was a bad boy'... "Emotionally torment your child and then laugh about it because it was 'just a joke'.".... Fuck these people.... I'm not violent guy, but if I ever ran into the dad, I'd smash his face into the pavement a few times and then as he is struggling for breath as the blood from his nasal cavity fills his lungs, tell him "It's cool, man... I was just joking, it's no big deal. I just wanted some views on YouTube"

Sounds like a rerun from my house. I was really excited about a watch I had wanted when I was 7. I unwrapped the box and found a picture of it torn out of a magazine. My parents laughed like hyenas and couldn't understand why I was crying. Some parents are true assholes. I never did get that watch. It's horribly abusive to tell a child they have to give up an animal they've had for a while and love dearly. It's not a joke and she'll remember it for the rest of her life.
