The Ohio woman facing criminal charges connected to a fight inside a McDonald's that stemmed from her anger about a slushy order had pleaded guilty in 2014 to a separate attack on her grandmother.

Cherysse Cleveland, 44, is charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault related to a violent June 14 altercation at a McDonald's in the Cleveland suburb of Ravenna. In a video posted online, Cleveland appeared to strike workers and go behind the counter after being told they couldn't mix flavors for a slushy drink.

"Are you f-----g crazy? Don’t touch me!" a McDonald's employee was heard telling a woman, apparently Cleveland, in an expletive-laden video purportedly captured of the disturbance. "Do not touch me, I’ll destroy you!"

At one point, the woman ripped off a worker's mask and got into a physical struggle. A brawl broke out before police officers arrived and arrested Cleveland. Officials released her from jail Wednesday night.

19 News has learned a Kent woman at the center of an assault case, stemming from a fight inside a McDonald’s, previously served time in prison for assaulting her grandmother.

This is not the first time Cherysse Helena Cleveland has been in trouble with the law.

Court records show she was charged with felonious assault, kidnapping and disrupting public service in 2014.

A criminal complaint states, in August of 2014, Cleveland caused “serious physical harm to Rebecca F. Biggers by throwing her to the ground and repeatedly hitting her with her hands and fists.” The complaint also states, “victim was lying on ground after the initial attack, the defendant grabbed a glass lamp, stood over victim, and threw the lamp onto her body.”

During the case, Cleveland wrote the judge letters asking for leniency.

A portion of one of Cleveland’s letter said, “I am not an evil or bad person. I had some very difficult things going on in my life… I did not mean to assault my grandmother. In my mind at the time I thought I was fighting the devil. Probation from you is the request. I would like to get back out into the community and help in every way possible”.

In another letter Cleveland said, “Mental illness strongly runs in my family and why I’m in jail. I had a nervous breakdown due to the death of my mother and why I assaulted grandmother. I was not of sound mind and body. Before the incident I worked at my job for 16 years and tried to be a good citizen.”

During the case, the judge granted a request to have Cleveland attend drug and alcohol counseling programs while incarcerated.

According to court records, in October of 2014, there was eventually a plea agreement where Cleveland pleaded guilty to the felonious assault. The other charges of kidnapping and disrupting public service were dismissed.

In March of 2015, Cleveland was sentenced to two years in prison and three years of probation following her release. She received credit for 217 days spent in the Portage County Jail.

In December of 2015, there was a hearing to determine whether Cleveland should be let out of prison early under what is called judicial release.

It was granted with the judge ordering Cleveland to be released on Dec. 7, 2015. Part of the terms included Cleveland going to counseling at Coleman Professional Services, taking all prescribed medications and having no contact with her grandmother unless in presence of other adults.

Violent, out of control and obviously dangerous when angry, there is no way to defend this behavior. That being said, I wonder why they couldn't just give her the flavors? It's not like multiple colors makes more frozen sugar fit in the cup. Article read likes maybe it's store policy... I don't go to McDonald's often, but when I do I always drink ice water for free. She was paying for the slushie. I don't understand why it was a big deal to mix the flavors. Apparently, she didn't either.

The super-sized fight then takes a physical turn when Cleveland hit the employee in the head before being asked to leave.

Cleveland then took a brief moment of pause before reaching back across and grabbing the employee’s mask while throwing food items on the counter at the employees.
In a wild twist, Cleveland walks away to begin pouring herself a soft drink from the self-serve machine before lunging back at the counter to try to get to the slushie machine where the employee essentially tackled her and began beating her.
The three-and-a-half minute-long clip has since garnered over 73,000 shares and over 2.7 million views.

I used to mix drinks here and there when I drank pop from the fountain of fast-food eateries. But I gave up drinking soda last year, kind of on a whim. It was fun when I did it, but I didn't do it all the time.

I wanted to limit the amount of sugary drinks I intake. And cutting out soda is a great means toward that goal.

It could have been a management decision that this particular employee had no control over. And besides that it, doesn't why they don't mix flavors what matters is the customer's reaction to that decision, it was completely over the top and outrageous. Adults say okay and then go to the nearest convenient store and get it if it's so damn important that they feel they need to beat up people over it.

Haha I was going nowhere near this story. I was scared she'd track me down and eat me.

Lol my first thought was, why didn’t F-Milf post this herself? You’re too close to the action lol!

Darn it Symmachus, will you stop making serious and helpful comments and get back to the sarcasm you’re so good at??

(I too no longer drink sugary pop...FYI I see that you said “pop” and I speak the same language...it’s true that eliminating sugary drinks is a very beneficial step...)

Wait, aren’t we angry, bitter assholes seeking justice? (Okay we probably are but hey, cutting carbs and lowering our glucose readings are important too at our advanced ages).

It might be policy.

The woman who attacked McDonald’s employees in Ravenna after they told her they couldn’t fulfill her drink order, pleaded no contest in Ravenna Municipal Court.
Cherysse Cleveland, 45, was then convicted and given credit for the time she already served in jail.

Ravenna Municipal Court Judge Mark Fankhauser also banned Cleveland from all Portage County McDonald’s.

Cleveland became upset inside the restaurant located in the 400 block of W. Main Street this past June when the workers would not mix her three different Slushie flavors.
Cleveland told the judge she’s embarrassed and has been in therapy and counseling since the incident.

“I’m very sorry and you know I just really feel bad. Thanks for everybody treating me the way they have, it could have went another way,” Cleveland said.
