Six men arrested in a sexual assault case have been ordered to stand trial.

Deputies say on Nov. 28, they found a juvenile runaway on the side of the road. The girl told authorities she escaped from a residence where she was being sex trafficked. Her age was not released.

Six men, all believed to be undocumented immigrants from Guatemala, were arrested. Five face third-degree sexual assault charges, while one faces a second-degree sexual assault count.
All six waived their preliminary hearings Thursday. Four men also pleaded not guilty at the hearing, court records show. They are: Ember Rivera, Esler Rivera, Rolando Corado Gonzalez, and Avelino Sarceno-Sarceno.

Two men - Noe Bautista-Martinez and Evis Garcia-Rivera – return to court March 24 for arraignments.

The judge also ordered all six men to be tested for HIV/STD, court records show.

Investigators said the search produced a number of evidence items believed to be connected to the alleged sexual assault of the juvenile.

Two of the suspects in the sexual assault of a sex trafficking victim have been sentenced to 18 months in prison. Both were also placed on extended supervision for two years.

Meanwhile, federal charges have been filed against two of the men initially charged in Green Lake County, along with several others.

Ember Rivera and Rolando Corado Gonzalez were convicted Tuesday in Green Lake County to an amended count of exposing genitals to a minor. Both were also placed on extended supervision for two years, court records show.

As for the other four defendants:

  • Noe Bautista-Martinez is scheduled for a plea and sentencing on Oct. 27 (?)

  • Esler Rivera is scheduled for a plea and sentencing on Oct. 27 (?)

  • State charges were dropped against Evis Garcia-Rivera. He has pleaded not guilty to federal human trafficking charges. No trial date has been set

  • State charges were dropped against Avelino Sarceno-Sarceno. He has pleaded not guilty to federal human trafficking charges. No trial date has been set

As for the federal charges, Garcia-Rivera and Sarceno-Sarceno were charged along with Julio Veleta-Veleta, Abilio Corado Gonzalez, Samuel Martinez-Corado, and Oscar Martinez-Corado. They face sex trafficking of a child, sex trafficking by force, and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking charges.

According to the federal indictment, the Madison girl was taken to a town of Manchester farm in Green Lake County. “(The victim) engaged in commercial sex acts with the residents of that farmhouse, and she gave half of the proceeds of those sex acts to Veleta,” it states.

Valeta eventually admitted “he had driven her there from Madison on three occasions, knowing that she would engage in commercial sex dates,” the complaint states.

Noe Bautista-Martinez pleaded no contest to third-degree sexual assault, and was sentenced to 389 days in jail. A count of child enticement was dismissed.

Esler Rivera pleaded guilty to exposing genitals to a child and were sentenced to 18 months in state prison and two years of extended supervision,
