A 26-year-old east-central Minnesota woman has been convicted of killing her 2-month-old by forcefully throwing the boy down in his crib, Shy Ann Hentges, of Braham, was found guilty last week in a bench trial of second-degree murder in connection with the April 2017 death of Eli Arispe Hentges.

Prosecutors said Hentges told investigators she forcefully threw her baby into his crib, causing his head to hit the wall. The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office in Anoka County found that the child suffered two fatal skull fractures.

The criminal complaint noted that Hentges, who was raising the child on her own, was saying in text messages that she was having second thoughts about "keeping this kid" and complained of a lack of sleep. She also made references to drug and alcohol use.

She looks like she has no remorse. Probably thought her baby would keep the father around. Probably liked the attention and special treatment that came along with being pregnant too. Then reality sets in and she sees that theres work and responsibilities involved so she cant just be a lazy fuck and get high whenever she felt like it. Add that to the realization that babies dont keep men around and she wanted no more of the baby.

As a 44-year-old male with no kids, I would love the opportunity to raise a child. I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating. What a fucking shame. I'd have adopted that kid if she didn't want him. (Not that she'd have any way of knowing that, and it probably wouldn't have made a difference if she did, cuz evil is evil).

It bugs me to no end that something in my life that I feel I have missed out on, other people fucking throw it away. This psycho should be taken out back and shot.

Shy Ann Hentges, of Braham, was sentenced to a 12½-year term in connection with the April 2017 death of Eli Arispe Hentges in her home.

Hentges was convicted of second-degree murder in a bench trial in December.

With credit for time in jail since her arrest, Hentges will serve the first 6¼ years in prison and the balance on supervised release.
