Two Marshall County parents were arrested on charges of child abuse and neglect after a two month old baby was found to be starving.

27-year-old Mckala Ramsey and 32-year-old Kevin Henry were arrested for child abuse that court documents state occurred last week, and the two month old baby they’re accused of starving wasn’t the only child with signs of abuse.

According to court documents, the Kingston parents willfully neglected to give the baby enough nutrition and didn’t give the baby necessary medical care either.

A representative from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office said the baby is still alive, but in very poor health.

Court documents state Ramsey and Henry also abused two other children in their home--a one year old and a two year old-- using unreasonable force including biting, slapping and hitting the children, leaving bruises and cuts.

The two older children are now in DHS custody.

Ramsey and Henry both pleaded not guilty and were each given a two hundred thousand dollar bond.

The poor baby already looks dead in that picture. Skrawny and pale. The bottle must be a prop. It's been a hot minute since I had a newborn (20-ish years), but I don't recall them drinking a full-size bottle like that at 2 months old.
I almost missed that! I saw the bottle but didn’t realize that yeah, you are right, that’s way too much for that age. If it’s a prop, that is beyond sad, that they would go that much more out of their way to starve that poor baby…

These people need birth control!! Permanent birth control!!

Did they forget you actually have to FEED a newborn? You can't just, ya know, hand them a full 12oz bottle!?

That takes time, though. Time that one could spend doing drugs, playing video games, or getting more of those sweet sweet tattoos. Nahhh too much work.

Thank god those kids have been removed. Aside from the physical abuse, there is neglect there as well. Look at where they are living. That's not a house, the microwave is on the floor and filthy, there is a knife on the 'ledge' behind them in the pic with Dad, obviously white trash parents as there is writing all over the wall. I reckon bottle in the capsule one of the toddlers' bottle.

OMG...that poor baby looks like some of the black & white photos I remember of the concentration camp holocaust victims in that first pic of his face in his car seat...absolutely horrendous. If I would have seen a baby like that in public, I would have immediately called 911, wrote down their license plate number or whatever...etc...they have to be on some serious drugs

Born normal-ish weight.

Wow look at that concentration camp looking baby's face later.

As thin as that man looks, my vote is on extremist vegan. Right. There.

I hope they never get those kids back. It takes a special breed of extremist stupidity and selfishness and neroticism to do this to children and BABIES wtf just, babies. Fuck you, nutters!

Edit: oh wait... this is interesting... the mom's face in the pics with the newborn, maybe that looks a bit.. methy?

Okay so, I expand my vote - drugs, or extremist vegans. Those 2 things do similar things to the state of the intellect, methinks.

I didn't even think of that, nor have I ever seen such concoctions.
Several people I know don't do dairy. They believe they are allergic. So they use soy milk, almond milk, cashew milk, etc. I believe some vegans use similar options for their infants. One of my vegetarian friends finally had to give her son some animal protein because he was so pale and extremely thin that the doctor insisted.

So - what about the choice of name: River Koe'Dean. Koe'Dean?! Favourite drug is Codeine or what? Jesus Christ..

How does this go unnoticed?
In Norway the we must bring the child in to checkups at different ages. One loses the child long before something like this happens, and if one doesn't bring the child in to these checkups they will do home visits and our "cps" will be contacted.

We don't have mandatory check-ups. It is recommended, and most parents do it by choice, but it is not required. The right of an individual to choose is considered extremely important here, which includes the right of a parent to decide how to raise their child. Unless someone in the public notices a problem and calls CPS, nothing will happen. Even if someone does call CPS, many times nothing is done. It's tragic.
