A Florida teen arrested on felony charges for allegedly trying to rob homes in his Vero Beach neighborhood told arresting officers he did so in part because “the devil kept tempting him to steal,” according to an Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun Wednesday.
Rafael Woloski, 18, was arrested late last Friday afternoon with a 2.5-inch knife on him, after a caller reported someone had broken her window and entered the home through that window, according to the document. Police, according to the report, then saw him walking on a nearby street
Woloski admitted to having committed three burglaries in the area, according to the affidavit.
He noted that following one burglary attempt, he went to a nearby home where he cut the screen of the patio with the blade and saw inside that a woman was there and ran off, according to the report.
Woloski told authorities he’d done it “to get money for college” and then made mention of Satan’s temptation, the document reports.
Charged with three counts of armed burglary, he is currently in jail on $75,000 bond.
