A Bloomington man charged with multiple counts of child sexual assault has pleaded guilty and was sentenced.

Michelle Blessent was sentenced to 42 years for each of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of two victims under 13, as well as three years for a count of grooming.

The Bloomington Police Department says the sentences run consecutively, meaning Blessent was sentenced to 87 years.

Under Illinois’ truth-in-sentencing laws, 85 percent of the counts of criminal sexual assault must be served.

Blessent will not be eligible for parole until 2095.

The charges stem from sexual assault investigations in 2023 which involved two victims under the age of 13.

His lawyer is requesting a reconsideration of this sentence.

They were his children.

He was originally being held in protective custody within a women's jail, but is doing his sentence in a male prison.

Interestingly he/she was engaged to a woman when he was arrested. Her reaction when he says he is getting arrested for that shit makes it seem like she knew about the abuse.
