The woman charged in the abduction of two Louisiana girls that ended with one of them dead in South Jackson pleaded guilty.

Victoria Cox appeared in Hinds County Circuit Court on Monday, Nov. 24, where she pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and kidnapping. Cox had been indicted on capital murder, kidnapping and sexual battery.
Cox changed her plea to guilty before her trial, which was scheduled to begin Dec. 8.

Judge Winston Kidd sentenced Cox, who was fighting tears, to 40 years for murder and 25 years for kidnapping. The sentences will run concurrently.

She and Daniel Callihan were arrested in 2024 after Erin Brunett and her sister were kidnapped from Louisiana after their mother was murdered. Cox told Kidd that she didn't know Callihan did not have permission to take the children from Louisiana to Mississippi.

"I wanted to get away, but I couldn't," Cox said. "If I could change it all, I would. But I can't."

It's actually "literally" a legitimate mental illness and specified in the DSM-5. I strongly suspect your little feelings got hurt by a Borderline at some point in time, and therefore you should probably seek therapy for your bruised ego instead of encouraging the negative stigma associated with BPD simply because pinecones like yourself can't wrap your mediocre IQs around a disorder you're extremely fortunate to not suffer with.
Instead of victimizing yourself for having BPD, the original comment you’re responding to has a point. It is very possible to overcome BPD with introspection and actively working on changing one’s behavior, by rewiring the brain and making new patterns instead of remaining comfortable in your old ones and allowing oneself to become consumed by the unfavorable characteristics of BPD. Also like the original commenter said, meds won’t help, the only thing that will is self reflection and wanting to change for the better. Stop playing victim, if you want to change bad enough you will or own it and accept it about yourself, but don’t try to justify it and play the victim card. If you don’t want to change or want to sign it off as a mental illness that has no cure, then remain the victim who lives a life choosing deception over truth. which there is always an underlying reason that can be worked out and dealt with once the root cause is identified. It’s easier said than done, but not impossible, you just have to truly want it and take action to overcome it.

Victoria Cox was sentenced to a total of 60 years in prison on several charges, including accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping of a child and attempted aggravated kidnapping of a child.
The time will be served concurrent the the time Cox was sentenced for in Mississippi.

Cox accepted a plea deal earlier this month that included dropping two felony charges of first-degree murder and second-degree kidnapping.
Cox has already pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and kidnapping in Hinds County Circuit Court and was sentenced to 40 years for murder and 25 years for kidnapping. The sentences will run concurrently.

Cox and Daniel Callihan were arrested in 2024 after 4-year-old Erin Brunett and her 6-year-old sister were kidnapped from Louisiana after their mother was murdered.

Police found the girls behind a South Jackson house. Erin was dead. Cox said she didn't know why Callihan took the girls.
