Brandon Hagen was charged with domestic assault after he got upset with his fiancee in a hotel room and put her in a chokehold before breaking her phone and throwing it into a nearby tree line. He accused her of talking about him behind his back and being the reason he couldn’t get a job, per the report.
On March 24th, officers responded to a domestic disturbance at Travelodge.
Angel Vandreumel reported to officers that her fiance Branden Hagen had left their hotel room for an unknown reason. According to the affidavit, he returned a short time later upset with her and accused her of “talking shit” about him and she was “preventing him from getting a job”.
Angel told officers that she tried to avoid an argument by leaving the room, but Brandon stepped in front of her to keep her from leaving. She said that Brandon then grabbed her by her left arm, pulled her closer to him, and then put his arm around her neck to put her in a headlock. He then put his hand over her mouth and nose while yelling several profanities at her.
Angel went on to say that Brandon released the headlock on her, he grabbed her cell phone from her possession and threw it on the ground causing it to break. He then picked it up and threw it into a nearby tree line. While he was doing this, Angel stated she was able to leave and she ran to the hotel office to call 911. Officers noted Angel had bruises on her left arm and around her neck from the assault.
The charges were later dropped.
