A stray kitten was euthanized after authorities determined it had been shot in the neck by a Mount Clemens man with a BB gun, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
The 911 callers believed the kitten had been shot by a man who was driving around the block multiple times in a black Buick Rendezvous. A family member reported hearing a loud "pop" coming from the car as it passed the house and the injured kitten was then found on the porch.
As deputies were conducting their investigation, the 911 caller saw a passing car that matched the vehicle description. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody. A BB gun was found in the backseat of the car and taken into evidence.
The driver's two minor children were also in the car and turned over to a family member.
The driver was identified as Adam Christie, 39, he is charged with one count of killing/torturing an animal, a third-degree felony against Christie.
