The Floyd County Sheriff's Office said three people have been arrested after a pursuit this week.

The sheriff's office said Sergeant OB Harris initiated a traffic stop against Melvin Leftwich, Jr., who was driving a pickup truck, for an improper registration. Sergeant Harris said Lefwich stopped the truck on Route 8 near the intersection.

When Harris approached the vehicle, he said there were five people inside and he spoke with Leftwich.

But, while running Leftwich's information, he sped off and drove north on Route 8 toward Montgomery County.

Harris and other members of the Floyd County Sheriff's Office pursued Leftwich for 10 miles before he came to a stop at the end of Five Points Road in Riner.

They said that Leftwich immediately fled the scene on foot, headed north.

Investigators said they had discovered he had two outstanding warrants for felony shoplifting and misdemeanor failing to appear.

Members of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Christiansburg Police Department, and Virginia State Police responded to the scene to search for Leftwich with the help of a State Police K-9 unit.

Leftwich was later arrested.

Police said 34-year-old Vanessa Parks, who was a passenger, was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Montgomery County for a probation violation and 30-year-old Joanna Spurrier, another passenger, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Montgomery County on the same charge.

During a vehicle search, Floyd County Sheriff Brian Craig said the sheriff's office and state police found drug narcotics paraphernalia and other "items of interest". After interviewing the passengers, investigators said they discovered that Spurrier was in possession of meth.

Parks and Spurrier were taken into custody by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

Leftwich, Jr. was charged with felony eluding, driving on a revoked license, and improper registration in Floyd County.

Oh... come on now... let's be fair. Miss Pickin' Pox ain't so bad lookin'... Think of her as a "fixer-upper."

All ya really need is:
* 1 tub of some good quality spackle + a trowel (..to help fill-in/ smooth out those facial divets..)
* A couple of jugs of liquid foundation/ concealer (..for best results, I'd recommend applying 3 or 4 layers w/ a roller brush..)
* A 6-pack of whiskey (..I like to call that my "Breakfast of Champions"..)
* A light switch in the "Off" position

And then BAM! Presto-chango... you've got yourself... ummm... ... ... somethin'...

And hey... let's not forget, there are a couple of benefits to havin' that kind of a mugshot. For example:

#1 - Think of all the time she's saving herself on writing Facebook status updates! There's no need for her to write any lengthy story about how her life's going. She can just post that picture and it pretty much sums things up nicely. After all, they do say that a picture is worth a thousand words (..or in her case, "nightmares"..)

#2 - She's saving herself a BUNCH of money on Halloween costumes! She's all set. I mean, she could be a witch... a zombie... a crazy cat lady... etc. The possibilities (..unlike her future potential..) is limitless...

But hey... maybe that's just me. What can I say? I'm a freakin' optimist... [-read: heavy sarcasm-]
