Police are seeking information about two malnourished dogs that were left abandoned in a park on Thanksgiving morning.
According to a police press , a call was received around 7 a.m. on Thursday that two female dogs were found on the side of the road at the Gardner Seveney Sports complex. An officer located the dogs, who appeared to have been abandoned, lethargic and emaciated.
The dogs — nicknamed Turkey (dark colored) and Gravy (white color) — were taken to an emergency veterinarian, where they received treatment for neglect. Later in the day, information was received that Turkey needed to be euthanized due to her poor health condition.
Gravy is currently under a veterinarian’s care and is doing better. She will eventually be released to the Potter League for Animals in Middletown for more rehabilitation.
