Several people visiting a Dauphin County park found a dog locked inside a pet carrier Sunday.
Luckily, the dog is now safe and in good hands, but Lower Paxton Township police are investigating a case of suspected animal abuse.
According to police, an officer was called to a home Sunday evening for a report of a dog that had been abandoned at Centennial Acres Park. The dog had been left in a small pet carrier, which was placed in the reeds near the parking lot, nearly out of sight in an area that does not appear to be accidental, police say.
Police are now seeking the public’s help to find out who left the dog there and what the circumstances were.
