An Arizona tattoo artist has been slammed after inking a nine-year-old girl who asked for a portrait of Donald Trump on her neck.

An artist at the Black Onyx Empire Tattoo shop in Yuma shared on his Instagram that the girl had traveled to Arizona with her parents to get the ink of the president-elect.

But the artist, who shared video of the inking process, said he convinced her to do a 'more patriotic tattoo' instead - of a US flag on her arm, as first reported by Arizona's Family.

'Told her in a year if she still wanted the trump then to get it but to think on it,' the artist, who goes by cutzsosa, wrote on Instagram.

'Client came back one year later saying “I'm 10 now can you touch up the red?"'

'She also changed her mind on the Trump portrait one year later,' the artist added.

The girl apparently traveled to Arizona for the tattoo, as the state allows kids to ink themselves if they have parental permission.

The artist said he even 'tried to scare' the girl's parents away by pricing the ink at $500 even though the tattoo was worth $80.

'But they jumped on that price instead…. I tried,' the artist said.

Video of the girl getting the tattoo shows her calming sitting as the artist works on the US flag on her arm.

The story has sparked a debate online about whether children should be allowed to get tattoos - and if artists should decline their requests, even if it's not illegal.

I don't like it, but if it's legal there and her parents were there and paid for it, then her parents are to blame, not the artist. Sounds like he did his best to change her mind, but it also sounds like her parents were part of the problem, they could have refused to take her there or pay for it.

The Flag tattoo was better than the Trump tattoo, at least for a little while longer we still revere the flag.

So wait, a nine year can claim to be the opposite sex of their birth sex, and be instantly put on hormones and puberty blockers and scheduled for surgeries and we can only shut up and play along. but heaven FORFEND a nine year old getting a tattoo, that can, at expense, be removed, whereas nothing will ever quite be the same for the altered hormones kid. Mmmkay, can someone make that shit make sense? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

And THERE it is! Thank you @BuffettGirl for catching my vibe on this! I gift you a Trump neck tattoo!!

This is wrong on so many levels... (is this even real? Smells like bullsh*t)
1. The guy gave her a tattoo? Sure. Make out that you're the good guy by jacking up the price of Trump ink.
2. The parents brought her in saying it's okay? Then brought her back a year later?
3. The law allows this???
4. Is she the only 11 year-old with a tramp stamp?

Agreed. Honestly, I wouldn't let my kid do either. I always thought how many people immediately wanted to put their kids on meds for being kids was scary...then the sex changes started. It's one thing to let your kid "identify" but nothing permanent! Nothing that could physically harm them!
My momma let me get my first body piercing (belly button) right before I turned 13. I wanted a tattoo, but that wasn't legal and she told me, "Piercings aren't permanent. Keep good grades and you can pierce what you want." Bless her heart, she stuck with it even though I'm sure she regretted it.
I'm so thankful she didn't let me get a tattoo even when I got old enough for her signature to okay it.
