No Justice: WI Man Who Paid For Monkey Torture Video “Is Terribly Sorry For His Wrongdoing"

Kenneth Herrera, 40, was sentenced Wednesday to a year and a day in prison for causing the creation and distribution of a video of a monkey being tortured.

Herrera was cited under the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act, which makes it illegal to cause the creation or distribution of depictions of “animal crushing.” Animal crushing includes burning, suffocating, impaling or causing the serious bodily injury of animals, prosecutors said.

Herrera pleaded guilty to the charge on Sept. 15.

His attorney, Richard Coad, issued a statement saying his client “is terribly sorry for his wrongdoing, and for putting his family and community through this ordeal.”

Agents from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the FBI found evidence that Herrera in December 2021 sent money to a videographer in Indonesia in exchange for a video of a monkey being physically abused, prosecutors said. The videographer sent the video to Herrera via an encrypted messaging application.

Why is he allowing himself to still breathe? Seriously? If I had been convicted of causing the torture of a defenseless animal for MY PLEASURE, I'd kill myself. Probably long before the conviction in all honesty. It's sad how much shit still shocks me. I've been on DD for over a damn decade now! (ten years in the forums, spent a whole year just doing front page in the beginning)

Girl, you ain't lyin'! The Mother Person is currently OBSESSED with monkey videos on YouTube! Tons of videos of people that care for orphaned baby monkeys. They are NOT a kindly lot. I've watched other videos where the Mama monkey will take food straight out of the baby's mouth to eat themselves! It's insane!

Oh but he's terribly sorry, cut him a break, he didn't mean to do it, it was an accident.

What I really mean is break his legs and arms and throw him in the gorilla cage, then orangutans and then bonobos. I guarantee he won't ever want to look at another monkey type beast again, that is if he lives thru it.
