The Atlanta Police Department is investigating the death of a newborn found unresponsive in an Atlanta home.
On Sunday morning, around 7:30 a.m., officers received a person injured/down call.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found a newborn that was not breathing.
Authorities said the baby was taken to Scottish Rite Hospital. While the hospital staff made every effort to save the baby’s life, the baby died.

During the initial investigation, officials learned the newborn was co-sleeping with other children who lived at the home.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Well, that was stupid. Anyone who has ever tried to sleep in the same bed as children knows they will kick the crap out of you during the night. Not to mention they can sleep through pretty much anything once they knock out.

When my daughter was little she was like a normal little kid while awake and a human windmill while asleep. I woke up to her laying across my face, sometimes toes jammed up my nose, her laying completely sideways along the length of my headboard.

I hope they aren't old enough to really understand what happened. Though I can't see how waking up to a dead infant in your bed can be anything other than pure trauma to any age of child.
