A 12-year-old girl was found stuffed in a suitcase in Paris with her throat slashed and a chilling bizarre clue — the numbers 1 and 0 “placed” on her corpse, authorities said.

The hands and feet of the French child, who was not named, were bound with tape, and she appeared to have died from asphyxiation, according to Fox News and the Independent.

At least four people have since been taken into custody for questioning in the case, but no arrests have been announced.

The girl’s parents notified police when their daughter didn’t come home after school in the French capital Friday, the outlet said.

The girl’s father, who is a caretaker in their building, told police he saw his daughter with a woman in her 20s on video footage from the building — with the woman later emerging on the footage carrying a suitcase. Cops later found evidence of a kidnapping in the basement of the building.

Around 11:30 p.m. Friday, police received a call reporting a suspicious suitcase on Rue d’Hautpoul, several streets away from the family’s home.

Police said the numbers “1” and “0” had been “placed” on the murdered child’s body with “a device.”

This is weird in a few ways. She's only 12 so I doubt she got herself in any kind of trouble with the wrong people. The offender is a young woman which is very unusual. The numbers and devices thing really intrigues me.

What the heck happened here? I hope they find the woman and we actually get some kind of further information.

A homeless woman has been charged with the murder, rape and torture of a 12-year-old Paris girl, who was found stuffed inside a suitcase with her throat slashed – and the numerals 1 and 0 bizarrely placed on her chest.

Dahbia B., 24, originally from Algeria, was indicted Monday in connection with the grisly killing of Lola Daviet, 12, whose mutilated body was found with her hands and feet bound with tape, the Mirror reported.

Lot more info in this article.

Six people, including Dahbia B's older sister Friha B, were arrested in connection with the crime, including a 43-year-old man who faces charges over sheltering the suspect in his car. The other four have been released.

An Algerian woman accused of raping, torturing and brutally murdering a 12-year-old girl has today appeared in court for her trial.

Dahbia Benkired, now aged 27, stands accused of abusing and killing Lola Daviet in 2022.

Investigators say Benkired raped and hit the schoolgirl with scissors and a box cutter, then bound her up in duct tape, including around her face, leading to her death by asphyxia.
And Benkired admitted in court today that she forced the young girl to undress and wash herself, before forcing her to perform an 'oral' act for the alleged killer's pleasure.

The presiding judge of the Assize Court told the jurors that Lola's 'head was partially severed' at the neck.
In October 2022, Lola's body was found in a trunk in the lobby of the building where her father and mother worked as caretakers.

Building residents saw Benkired in the lobby of the apartment block in the 19th district, carrying suitcases and a heavy trunk covered in a blanket, the investigation showed.

An hour and a half earlier, security footage showed Benkired approaching the girl as she returned from school, then leading her into the flat her sister occupied in the building.
She placed the body in a trunk and exited the building, pausing outside a cafe, where she told a client who suspected something strange in her luggage that she was 'selling a kidney', investigators said.

She then convinced a friend to drive her and the bags to his home, before taking a taxi with the trunk back to the building where her sister lived.

She fled when she saw police deployed in the area, but was arrested the next day.
A police investigation revealed that a pair of scissors, an oyster knife and an IKEA knife were found in Benkired's flat with traces of blood.
The Algerian woman had a tough upbringing with aunts before she settled in France in 2013, the investigation showed.

She told the court that she had been abused by family and neighbours as she grew up, claiming her aunts 'forced her to watch pornographic films... and groped her in the forest.'

It was reported at the time of the killing that she was was the subject of an expulsion order, prompting stinging criticism from the right and one of the most bitter political debates in recent memory.
She claimed to have suffered something of a mental breakdown following her parents' deaths in 2019 and 2020. She said she would smoke up to '20 [cannabis] joints a day' to deal with this 'tipping point'.

She had overstayed a student visa and had failed to comply with a notice issued in August to leave France within 30 days.
She told investigators she had been angry with the girl's mother, who had refused to give her a badge to get through the apartment block's front door, after her sister had given her a key to her flat.

The probe showed she had conducted searches online into witchcraft days before the murder.

Benkired, whose trial is to last until next Friday, faces a maximum sentence of life in jail.

On Friday, Algerian national Dahbia Benkired became the first woman to receive France’s harshest punishment — life in prison without parole — for the brutal rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl.

“Make no mistake,” the public prosecutor told the Paris criminal court on Friday morning. “No drug treatment can fundamentally transform Ms. Benkired’s personality — when there is no illness, there is no treatment.”
In 2022, Lola Daviet — a 12-year-old girl living in Paris — was reported missing after she didn’t come home from school one night. After her parents alerted authorities, she was later found in a trunk near her home. Daviet had over 30 stab wounds and other visible signs of injury.
“I ask for forgiveness. What I did is horrible,” were the only words that Benkired said to the courtroom in her final statement on Friday. She had remained expressionless and motionless throughout the hearings, with her gaze fixated on whoever had the floor.

During the weeklong trial, the jury heard brutal accounts of what Benkired did to Daviet, but received no clarity on why she did it. Psychologists found nothing in her personality that would suggest a disorder, which they said was immensely frustrating.

How about that there is nothing wrong with her and she just did it because she could. Tho that in itself means she's broken beyond help. Just glad she didn't blame "mental illness" because sometimes people are just beyond help.
