Maya Dennis Is Charged With Murder, Abuse In Death Of 5MO Daughter

Maya Dennis, 32, of Aberdeen, is charged with first degree murder and first degree child abuse.

Harford County Sheriff's Office Detectives responded to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Trauma Center on December 29 for a report of suspected child abuse.

There, detectives learned that the infant had multiple skull fractures, brain bleeds, a fractured leg, and "numerous other life-threatening injuries," according to officials.

Detectives began an investigation that included a search of the child's residence in the 200 block of Mayberry Drive in Aberdeen as well as interviews with multiple potential witnesses and suspects.

Early results from the investigation pointed to the infant's mother, Dennis, as having sole care and custody at the time the injuries occurred.

As the investigation continued, the child died from her injuries on December 31.

For once can we be objective and look at all possible perspectives. The action, cruel and wrong.
Its sad for everybody. There is no justification in what she did. She has young twins too and none of the fathers help from my understanding. That newborn was a victim of postpartum probably. Her just trying to cope and not having the skills or assistance to do so. Doubt her intentions were to harm that baby but the stress of taking care of 3 small kids on her own probably pushed her over the edge mentally and she just snapped.
Not excusing her. Just looking at it from a different view.

After the first baby daddy left her with twins to care on her own she should have not gotten pregnant.

She already knew how hard it was to care for multiple children at once.
