Johnson refused to open his bedroom door or let the cat out. He had been alone with the cat since the night before.
Police talked to Johnson. Johnson said the cat had defecated on the floor so he rubbed its nose on the carpet and "bopped" it on the head, according to the report. He then fell asleep with the cat and hadn't let it out of the room.
The officer saw the cat had a "rug burn" along its muzzle and face. It struggled to breathe and was bleeding from the nose. The cat struggled to move and appeared delirious. It had a swollen head and face and urinated on itself.
The cat was sent to an emergency after-hours vet. We have not yet learned the cat's current condition.
"Levi had no emotional reaction to the injuries the cat sustained or his behavior towards the cat," the officer wrote in the report."
