Police said they arrested 65-year-old Jose Ramos-Cordero of New Britain on charges of third-degree burglary, disorderly conduct, and sex assault of an animal-sexual contact.
On Monday, the Farmington Police Department said it received a complaint that video showed a maintenance worker at Brookdale Gables, a senior living facility, inside a tenant’s apartment while they were away.
The video showed Ramos-Cordero on the floor, exposing himself, and attempting to engage with the tenant’s dog in a sexual manner, police said.
The Brookdale Senior Living released a statement saying, “We do not tolerate conduct of this nature. When we became aware of the allegation, we immediately contacted local authorities and took appropriate measures including removing this individual from the community. He is no longer a Brookdale employee. Our company has strict standards in place for employees, including background checks and complying with state rules and regulations. The health and safety of our residents is our top priority. We are working closely with local authorities. We are deeply appreciative of their support.”
