LMPD arrests man in connection to 4-year-old child's death

Weeks after a 4-year-old child died from a gunshot wound at the hospital, authorities have made an arrest.

Louisville Metro Police arrested 26-year-old Zacari Amacher on Friday. He's been charged with reckless homicide in connection with the shooting on Jan. 13.

The coroner's office later identified the child as Zacarion Depp.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear.

Kryzshon Depp says the unimaginable became her reality on Saturday afternoon when her 4-year-old son Zacarion Depp was shot.

He was rushed to the hospital and died. While Depp would not give details about how Zacarion was shot, she says the shooting was a tragic accident.

“People are not perfect. It was an accident. Kids are nosy. You can't judge somebody, and you don't know what's going on. It was an accident. His daddy loves him. I love him,” said Depp.

Depp says her son's death has left her shattered. She says Zacarion was an active, happy, and caring brother and son.

Court documents state Amacher left a handgun on a couch and his 4-year-old son, Zacarion Depp, found the gun and shot himself while Amacher was out of the room.
