Kentucky State Police (KSP) received reports that the child hadn’t been seen since Dec. 23, 2024. When he returned on the first day of school since the holiday break, he was reportedly found to be gorging himself until he got sick and vomited.
According to state police, it was also found that the child had bruises on his nose and chipped front teeth, but he wouldn’t say how the injuries happened and denied being in pain.
Mary Hall, 44, was reportedly asked by law enforcement about how the injuries got there and said they were packing wood and playing but that he could also have done it in his sleep.
KSP said the room where the child was allegedly kept had a single mattress and lamp and had a lock on the outside. Court documents noted the child referred to the room as “the dark room.”
A warrant for Hall’s arrest shows that troopers took the child to UK hospital, where a doctor said he showed signs of torture.
