The Goldsboro Police Department responded to UNC Health Wayne for a possible child abuse incident on Oct. 16, around 10:30 a.m. The victim was a 5-year-old male who was taken to ECU Health in Greenville for treatment, where they later passed away from their injuries after GPD opened an investigation, according to GPD.

A warrant was secured for Kenneth Ray Robinson Jr. on an open count of murder on Oct. 24. Robinson was arrested by members of the Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division and B shift patrol officers on Oct. 27.
