The father of a 1-year-old girl was charged Thursday with causing the girl’s death when she ingested fentanyl and cocaine last Halloween, police said.
Kenneth Brown, 40, was charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child in the death of his daughter, Kyra Brown, Syracuse police said Friday.
On Oct. 31, Kyra’s mother, Kattia Lampkin, 29, told first responders her daughter was unconscious, not breathing and may have ingested drugs, according to police.
Kyra was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where she died, police said.
Police said Kyra’s father, Brown, had left the drugs out in the home.
Kyra died by ingesting fentanyl and cocaine, police said.
