MSNBC host Joy Reid suggested on Wednesday that President Biden recovering from COVID-19 is a "sign of strength" similar to former President Trump surviving an assassination attempt.

"These two men are both elderly. Donald Trump is an elderly man who, for whatever reason, was given nine seconds to take an iconic photo-op during an active shooter situation. Weird situation, we'll figure that out one day," Reid said during MSNBC's live coverage of the Republican National Convention.

Reid added that the media is portraying Trump surviving the assassination attempt and shortly returning to the campaign by appearing at his party's convention as a "sign of strength."

"This current President of the United States is 81 years old and has COVID, should he be fine in a couple of days, doesn't that convey exactly the same thing? That he’s strong enough – older than Trump – to have gotten something that used to really be fatal to people his age. So, if he does fine out of it and comes back and is able to do rallies, isn't that exactly the same?," Reid said.

On Instagram's Threads, Reid questioned the nature of Trump's injuries from the assassination attempt.

"I have many questions! Like where are the medical reports? What caused Trump’s injury and what was the injury? Sheapnel? [sic] Glass? A bullet? Where were the three attendees who were shot seated or standing relative to Trump? Why was Trump allowed to stand and pose for photos, fist pumping for nearly ten seconds while asking about his shoe when there could easily have been additional shooters?" Reid wrote.

Joy Reid is a disgusting gaslighter of the public. Her bottom line depends on pushing faithfully as much of the establishment narrative as possible. Some people watching her say these things are going to take her at her word, despite how much she is manipulating and sabotaging the truth.

Biden has no parallel to what happened to Trump. Reid wants to force a narrative that Biden recovering from perhaps a glorified cold is on the same plane as Trump surviving a lethally-intended gunshot by literal millimeters. Very few human beings who have ever existed actually do, and factoring the importance of both Trump and his assassination attempt survival, maybe none do. (A podcaster I listen to stated that Trump's ear injury is perhaps the most documented injury of all time.)

And to characterize the present human article of Joe Biden as "strong" is laughable.

well i did survive covid and i am older than biden does that make me a double "miracle" or is it the fact unlike biden i am not half dead, i do know what i say and don't loose my train of thought and ramble on, i do know where i am and can find my way to my seat without help, know when to stand up or sit, i don't wander away if i have to stay in one spot, i don't need anyone to come hold my hand to know where to go after an even, i don't soil myself and know that if i must be away from home if i had diarrhea i would wear an adult pull up and if i had an accident i would go clean myself up asap...

I watched like 2 minutes of it. I dont even like pmurt, but he had me dying. He asked if Biden would take a cognitive test, hell even 5 of the first easy questions he wouldnt be able to answer.

But on this issue, I agree with her.
With how Biden looks recently, I think it's even worse, as a slap on the back could probably kill him.
