I just wanted to say fuck Quanell X and the reporting on this case from the start is the worse I have ever seen

You took the words outta my mouth!
everyday some reports are totally different than the last, so much so the PD had to try to straighten it out them selves..sheesh!

Quanell X is wearing blinders if he believes this woman's load of hooey. If this was a black child and a white perp, he wouldn't let such silliness stand in the face of other evidence. I understand his desire to see that this woman is treated right but hope he's not buying what she's selling.

I was looking at your X link that lead to the New Black Panthers page and read this:
Members of the original Black Panther Party have insisted that the newer party is illegitimate and have strongly objected that there "is no new Black Panther Party". The Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center classify the New Black Panthers as a hate group.
I'm wondering why any one is giving this bozo the time of day let alone all this article time. he must be pleased to get his voice heard.

Well I was looking at the murderous's bitch's photo and yanno what? I think she isn't black but American Indian (maybe black and Indian) So I wonder if he'll slip away when the nature of her ethnicity comes to light?

probably not 'cause he seems like nothing more that a attention whore.

Okay, so Jonathan lives with his uncle & his family for 5 years because he's been neglected & abused and his mom is having drug dependency issues. Then, his grandmother decides to move him back to Texas, hoping to repair his relationship with his mother. He's uprooted from a stable, loving home where he was safe and appreciated, and returned to a woman who, over a five year period, called 6 times and visited once. And less than a year later, Jonathan is DEAD!

How did I miss this? Allot of missed info at the start of this case for me, but omg, your so right!

I thought they had said his dad lived down the street (must have been step-dad) and I had no idea mommy wasn't in his life until like NOW!

She (Jon's Mother)was worried what people would think about her because she left the child alone all day and felt ashamed enough to lie to the police about it?

Pfft!! She SHOULD BE ashamed she left him him alone his whole life!!

I now have barely any sympathy for this lady.
Who could not even call their child to see how he is? what ever her excuse is it isn't good enough!

As visitors started trickling into a Garden Oaks church to pay their respects to 12-year-old Jonathan Foster this morning, family members held a brief press conference requesting a day of remembrance for a sweet, trusting boy.

"Jonathan taught me something very special — a new meaning for the words ‘unconditional love,’""Gifford said. "Cause he did. When he loved you, he loved you. He didn’t care if you had to ground him because he didn’t do his homework, or whatever the case might be. That was just him."

Gifford said the family has struggled with doubts and regrets, asking why Jonathan was killed, and how they could have stopped it from happening.

You barely have sympathy for her? I do. Don't you think that no matter what kind of mom she was she is suffering immensely now? She gave Jonathan to his uncle because it was the better place for him to be at the time. She got her life straightened out and got her son back. When her husband was abusive to him once she left him. She did the right thing. She did the same thing I did. Would you have little to no sympathy for me if my child had been blowtorched to death because i let her live with my mom?

Sometimes the way people are judged on here bothers me. It is excessive. If you don't have sympathy for the mother of Jonathan who would you have sympathy for?

Police still want to know why Jonathan Foster was killed: Is Mona a monster?
Her supporters say she is innocent while police call her soulless, but what no one can unravel is the suspect’s possible motive in the incomprehensible death of a 12-year-old boy

Hours after Christmas Day dinner at her sister's Third Ward apartment, Mona Yvette Nelson, a nomadic 44-year-old maintenance worker, was jolted by a TV news report detailing the disappearance of 12-year-old Jonathan Foster from a ramshackle Garden Oaks enclave.

"I know those people," she reportedly told her sister, Angie Johnson, 62, after watching Jonathan's mother, Angela Davis, plead for help in finding her son.

Four days later, Nelson found herself in a Harris County jail cell, charged in the boy's slaying as veteran homicide detectives with uncharacteristic candor painted her a monster.

"She is a cold, soulless murderer who showed an absolute lack of remorse in taking the life of Jonathan Foster," said Michael Miller, the lead homicide detective on the case for the Houston Police Department.

With that, the evil that had visited the impoverished pocket of Garden Oaks on Christmas Eve had a face, and a nickname that went viral on the Internet: "Mona the Monster."

Since her arrest, a much more nuanced picture of Nelson — the daughter of a retired schoolteacher and deceased mortician - has emerged. There are hints of the alleged monster. Her Face*book page described an affinity for the movie Saw. Her boxing nickname was "Iron Fist." But those details are troubling only when taken in the context of Jonathan's grisly death.

Nelson's family, her defenders, paint her as a patsy who dumped what she thought was a bag of trash at someone else's request. She's a mother, a grandmother of five. Doing this, to a boy the age of one her own grand*babies?

No way, they say.
[...]

Interviews with family and friends who saw her in the days after the boy disappeared say Nelson was not nervous.

She was, though, worried about money.

"I asked if she was coming home (for Christmas)," said Preston, Nelson's 79-year-old mother. "She said, 'I don't know. I'm trying to save up money to buy something for my truck.' "
[...]

On Dec. 14, some 10 days before Jonathan disappeared, Davis and her son moved out of the Villa Nueva apartment complex on Oak Street where they had shared a home with David Davis, her husband and Jonathan's stepfather.

Davis said her husband had hit the boy. With Jonathan in tow, she moved to a dumpy duplex next door with her friend Sharon Ennamorato, whom Jonathan called "Aunt Sharon."
[...]

Angela Davis says she never met Nelson until she showed up at the duplex about 7 p.m. Christmas Eve - an hour or so after she was captured on video dumping the body. Nelson reportedly offered to look for Jonathan, saying she had stopped by earlier in the day, before he disappeared, looking for Ennamorato. She said he answered the door shirtless, and she suspected someone else was in the house.
[...]

Maintenance worker Frank Nickles, 47, said on Christmas Eve he was hanging out with Nelson, drinking beer outside his Tiffany Oaks apartment from about 10:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. - and she didn't leave during that time. But that conflicts with what witnesses told police.

Except for Nelson, "everyone else in the case is accounted for," said HPD's Miller.

Early reports cast suspicion on Jonathan's stepfather, but he is captured on security video at a nearby bar, the Catty Corner Ice House on Wakefield. "His time is accounted for," Miller said.

At the time of Nelson's arrest, Quanell X, an advocate for people accused of crimes, asserted that Nelson was innocent of the crime, and a drug debt was at the heart of the boy's disappearance and killing.

Miller scoffed at the suggestion: "We don't have any evidence of that at all. I've never had a case where an individual who owed up money had their child killed. That's a fantasy."

Police said a "wealth of evidence" shows Jonathan was burned at Nelson's apartment.

They reported finding burned carpet and twine like the kind used to tie Jonathan's hands at Nelson's apartment, along with welding equipment they believe she used to burn the body postmortem.

A skilled welder, Nelson owned torches, but nothing inside her apartment was burned, her landlord, Gary Arnold said, noting that it had tile floors.

On whether Nelson has given them the name of an accomplice, Spence added, "We're not saying."

The day after she interred her son's ashes, Davis called Jonathan's accused killer "cold."

"God will punish her," she said.

Surprisingly, Davis also offered her absolution.

"I forgive her,"
she said, explaining that she could afford to because Jonathan is now free from harm. "My son's safe. He's not hurting."

I get a kick out of her family offering that she's a grandmother as some sort of proof, yet when asked about Christmas she says "I'm trying to save up money to buy something for my truck".

Wow. She sure hopped on the forgiveness train early. A few weeks after your son is kidnapped, tortured and murdered and you already forgive the cunt who took him from this world? Interesting.
As for the landlord saying the apartment only had tile, I guess he's never heard of a throw rug?

So horrifying and beyond disturbing. I can't think on how he died.

That thing does not look like a woman or a man, nor animal. Not sure what it is. A monster describes it best. Why did it do it? why do people ever kill helpless children? They give reasons but none ever give a real explanation, not one that makes sense. It's evil. Sick and soulless. I can't tell otherwise.

Jonathan, was 'a gift from God', a treasure.
Besides his less than ideal upbringing, he was loved by his family each in their own way, hoping to do right by him. In my heart I believe the best would have been for Jonathan to remain on the farm. A life that had served him well. However, I do understand a mother wanting a second chance to raise her son. He will be missed dearly no doubt as regret and guilt will follow them all especially his mother who in her own words, "...I'm his mama, I'm supposed to protect him, if not me then who?". Indeed who. Her heart has been tortured enough. I imagine at the end who he cried for was for mama, who he begged would save him was mama. Oh, how my heart goes out to them all who suffer a tremendous loss one that has changed their lives forever. Foremost, my heart breaks for Jonathan and all the wrong done to him...taken from him, the darkness brought on him. Never more.

Your days of promise have just begun....light the heavens Jonathan with your brilliance.

If I were capable of a tear, that post would have recieved it! IMHO, if we ever hear the lame excuse that actually seems sensible, then we should commit ourselves!

I dont mean to offend anyone but Im holding my thoughts and opinions on this one, sorry but I really dont think she did it, there are too many pieces missing and she had no motive, something else is going on we dont know about yet... Im holding out for Mona because I dont think she did it... may be an unpopular opinion and if im wrong of course i will apologise but I dont think even with a confession (because it may be forced) I will ever believe this woman killed this child... there was no reason for her to... something is definitely off kilter here... dont string me up and crucify me either, just a gut instinct and my guts are usually right... i want to know too...

Correct me if I am wrong, I am too lazy to go look it up, but didn't they find Jonathan's DNA at Nelson's apartment?
As for motive, there doesn't really need to be one. He could have just been an easy grab.

She dumped his body like a sack of garbage. She is on tape doing it. And he wasn't in any type of container. I think that I would know that the "trash" I was dumping for a "friend" looked and smelled like a dead body. And she knew too. So she either did this or didn't care that it was done. Period.

Plenty of people kill for "no reason". Like Nell pointed out she was caught on video dumping the body, how much more proof does one need? Not to be a bitch (ok maybe a little bit) but didn't your "gut instincts" also tell you that Dustin LaFortune is a tweaker who willing participated in his own torture and captivity?

I still think there is info left out here, I read and I saw on the video that he was in a box when she dumped him and I never read they found his DNA at her home, not once did I find anything other than what we have here on this site, (Maybe I missed something and if I did I will apologize...) maybe because I read the innocence project a lot I still know sometimes things arent what they seem to be, even with so called evidence, and sure, lots of people are convicted by the courts on the "gut instincts" of detectives then later found to be innocent... even with false confessions, erroneous identifications, and faulty scientific evidence by experts and doctors http://www.innocenceproject.org/

DNA testing is still very expensive and also takes time, weeks, months usually, its something that has to be petitioned for permission from the court to run and the DA will fight it every step of the way even if he has evidence to the contrary, no one can say that this (or any) justice system is perfect where you have people put in jail and usually told they can go home today if they plead guilty, they may plead guilty even if they haven't done it rather than stay in jail and fight it... (this one is better than most though because after years of being imprisoned and petitioning the courts maybe, just maybe they might get a chance to run the DNA which in my opinion should be a right to have your DNA tested now, not 30 years later after you wasted your life in prison)

As for Dustin LaFortune, ask even the pussiest of men if they would stick around for that, unless he was knocked stupid with the first punch why would he stay around? He was big and strong too... and just like anyone else here, when Im proven wrong I will apologize and stfu...

P.S. released yesterday: http://www.innocenceproject.org/Content/Innocence_Project_MidAtlantic_Innocence_Project_and_Hogan_Lovells_US_LLP_Ask_Virginia_Appeals_Court_to_Exonerate_a_Richmond_Man_Who_Has_Served_Nearly_27_Years_for_Rapes_He_Didnt_Commit.php

Several men convicted then later exonerated by DNA? but the ones where there is no DNA evidence left to still sit and rot...

Posted earlier:
From behind bars on the fourth floor of the jail, Nelson gave her side, telling us one of Jonathan's family members stopped her Christmas Eve outside his Oak Street home and asked her to dump a plastic container. She said he paid her $20, and she didn't know what was inside because she was drunk on vodka.

She told us she randomly chose a ditch in northeast Houston because she said, "I was basically just drunk and driving and listening to music."

"I didn't know what was in it until they were showing me pictures in the interrogation room," Nelson said.

But the body, police say, was not found in a plastic container.

Investigators believe Nelson acted on her own. They say all family members have alibis.
http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=7872780

Arson dogs detected no accelerant on Jonathan's body, he said, adding that Nelson possibly used welding torches at her home. An autopsy found no soot in the boy's lungs, so Miller said Jonathan likely was not alive when he was burned.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7359495.html

Do realize how hard it is to get a body to burn without an accelerate? Your everyday "Bic lighter to clothing" is not going to do it.

Personally, I don't know why she did it, but nothing I've heard points to anyone else doing it or anyone else being involved.

At minimum, just from the obvious - she dumped the body - she is involved in some way. If she wants to keep her mouth shut about about others, she still deserves to rot. Just like the getaway driver for a fatal robbery gets charged with murder. You don't need to pull the trigger to face the murder charge.

Yeh, stepfather looks really devastated and upset here... I have learned a lot here at DD, I have lost a lot of beliefs about what people will and will not do, but if I can believe a woman, a grandmother killed a child in this terrible way for no reason then what hope does humanity have? That is too horrible to even think about, water dont burn without accellerant, and yes your right if she is keeping her mouth shut when she knows something then she deserves whatever comes along, My mind cant even comprehend this...If this is what we have "evolved" into then there is no future... Even animals will care for other creatures young babies... if this is true then it is so far gone from what I think its too much to see at one time...

She had a reason. We just don't know what it was. Even if we do find out, it may be nothing a sane mind can relate to.

If this is what we have "evolved" into then there is no future... Even animals will care for other creatures young babies...
Just because you never realized this before does not mean it's anything new or evolutionary. It's been going on since the dawn of time. And as for animals... they kill each other all the time. They eat babies more frequently than humans - even their own.

Er, no. There are no sentences "guilty by gut instinct."
Do people go to prison for things they didn't do? Yes, of course they do. But its evidence or lack of evidence that put them there.

Oh. It takes a minimum of 1500 degrees to burn a body. And that's an even temp, like a crematory oven.

OK DakotaValkyrie, I will look and try to see it, I saw a movie once, forgot the name of it, but at a pivotal point in the movie someone says "never look away" I think you are pretty much trying to tell me the same thing...

Authorities say the call was placed from the mother's residence around the time witnesses say they saw a woman matching Nelson's description pull up to the apartment complex in a gray or silver pickup.

Officers reviewed surveillance video captured near where the burned body was dumped and saw what appeared to be a woman in a gray or silver pickup with a chrome box on the bed stop on the side of the road and discard the body.

Investigators could be seen removing a large amount of evidence from the suspect's home, including burned carpet and twine which they say matched materials used to tie the child's hand together, says KHOU.

Police say Nelson admitted to discarding the body after the child was killed but did not admit to murder.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-20026834-504083.html

She admitted to dumping his body. The mother says she showed up at the house afterwards, while Nelson says they came to her after. My mind is made up she's guilty guilty.

Well this is why I am not a cop and choose to spend my free time just reading about crime and doing useless speculations on "the what ifs" Just ignore me when I do it, I cant help myself... If I stay around long enough I may even say it about another case, thanks for the blowtorch info Amazon and Rockin Ma, those are things I didnt think about...
