Police say a man in Sequatchie County found an 18-year-old in bed with his wife, who he then stabbed to death and stuffed his body into a trash can.
41-year-old Jonathan Belk now faces criminal homicide charges after the sheriff says he stabbed Billy J. Floyd to death.
A police report says after his arrest, officers asked him if he was worried about any major problems other than his legal issues. Belk reportedly responded,
I am worried about my relationship with my wife due to the fact that I offed him.
On Saturday, deputies found Belk's wife at the Sequatchie-Erlanger emergency room. She had been stabbed several times.
A police report says Belk returned to his Fredonia community home earier that night to find Billy J. Floyd in bed with his 31-year-old wife.
During the confrontation, Belk's wife was injured and Floyd was killed.
An arrest report our newsroom obtained says police found Belk "standing in his doorway covered in blood."
