I've sadly lost full interest in the genre I once supported, as every new game is basically a shooter or a walking simulator. And I grew tired of remakes (or "re-imaginings" to be more accurate) of Capcom's RE games being announced. Yet where in the blue hell is Code: Veronica?
Yes, even RE has always had a lot of action elements. But I digress. New horror games are boring as fuck and do nothing for me anymore. They are like watching paint dry. There's loads of them on Steam. All of them are prosaic, or laughing stocks.
What peed me off was Microsoft shutting down Tango Gameworks. The hell!? But I think what really did it for me was when Crapcom went woke and made Jill Spanish and Wesker African. As if that's really how they're portrayed in the games. Come on, Crapcom.
The Evil Within was brilliant, yet was rendered so darn underrated.
Unless some game comes out that can restore my interest and make me feel like a fan again, I think I'll forever just remain a casual fan today, if that.
