A grand jury indicted a Florida teacher accused of filming various sexual acts with a minor child who had been her former eighth-grade student in 2019.
Court documents filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida say that Marie-Jo Gordo was indicted on three counts related to the alleged sexual acts.
A criminal complaint filed in court in October says Gordo earlier in the year “engaged in a sexual relationship” with a minor, who had previously been her eighth-grade student at an Orange County School.
The parent of the minor came forward to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to report the incident, providing cell phone footage allegedly showing the two engaging in sexual activity.
The department reviewed more than two dozen videos provided by the parent, according to the complaint.
Multiple videos are believed to have been set up by Gordo, the complaint says. At least one of the videos is as long as 13 minutes and shows the two “engaging in mutual oral sexual activity and penile/vaginal sexual activity between them both,” according to the complaint.
The child, in an interview with detectives, said he engaged in the sexual acts between June and September 2023, adding that Gordo had been his teacher when he was an eighth-grade student in 2019.
