According to police, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the victim’s stepfather, David Le, became enraged after his 10-year-old stepson accidentally locked himself out of i-Ready, an internet-based educational program widely used in South Florida schools.
Authorities said Le, 55, grabbed the victim by his hair and yanked him back and forth. He then picked up a broomstick and struck the child approximately 10 times on his buttocks, leaving him with severe bruising, according to investigators.

After arriving at the victim’s home police said the boy showed “visible signs of trauma” which were consistent with his statement that wasn’t included in Le’s arrest report.

After being taken into custody, authorities said Le refused to answer any questions without an attorney present.

Jail records show Le, a Vietnamese national, is facing one count of child abuse with no great bodily harm and was ordered by a judge to stay away from the victim.

I’ll just never understand this!! Instead of doing a practice run on access with the son,, he chooses to dispense a wicked beating! Something so fixable, nothing to get your pants in a twist over!! Poor child!
