Sentenced: Father of Girl, 13, Stops Sex Assault From Pastor, 53, Who Asked Her To Run Away

An Oklahoma City pastor is accused of asking a 13-year-old girl to run away with him in an attempt to have a sexual relationship.

According to court documents, Manuel Moran-Izaquirre, 53, had contacted the girl through text message and pretended to be looking for her dad.

Moran-Izaquirre would not tell the girl where he got her number but called her on June 10 asking her what she wanted and said he would buy her anything.

During that call, the girl said Moran-Izaquirre said he wanted her to run away with him when her parents were gone from home.

Court documents state that the girl's mother then pretended to be her daughter and recorded conversations with the pastor.

He showed up at the girl's home on June 11, the affidavit states.

The girl's parents had their daughter go meet with him and he pulled her into his car.

Once inside the car Moran-Izaquirre allegedly kissed the back of the girl's hand and then grabbed the child by the neck and attempted to kiss her despite the girl telling him no.

The girl's father then approached the car and intervened to prevent the sexual assault.

Moran-Izaquirre told investigators that he was contacting the girl to 'give her council.'

Moran-Izaquirre is charged with one count of lewd acts and one count of solicitation sexual conduct/communication w/a minor by use of technology.

Previously, Moran-Izaquirre was arrested in 2005 for making lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16.

He pled guilty to a lesser charge of outraging public decency.

For some reason my mind went to the old (but awesome) series “If Walls Could Talk” and I’m picturing how, during the tearing down of walls in the midst of renovations, the new homeowner finds hidden evidence of a crime committed by the previous owner and is able to turn said evidence over to authorities and help convict the bad guy (who obviously is a poor renovator which in itself is a crime).
