The world’s richest man is dying to figure out how lawmakers on Capitol Hill got “strangely wealthy” despite their comparatively modest public salaries.

Speaking at a town hall in Wisconsin Sunday night, Elon Musk suggested that his team at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will investigate how certain members of Congress have achieved generational wealth.

One attendee at the town hall had asked Musk if DOGE had uncovered evidence of funds wired from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

“They’ll [the government] send the money overseas to one NGO [non-governmental organization], then they’ll go through a bunch of them, and then I’m highly confident that a bunch of that money then comes back to the United States and lands in the pockets of the people you just mentioned,” Musk replied.

“But it is a circuitous route. It doesn’t go directly, but let’s just say that there’s a lot of strangely wealthy members of Congress where I’m trying to connect the dots of, ‘How do they become rich?'”

Just prove that even one of them has been a part of this and you will have made my life... Politicians are one thing, it's the corrupt ones that drive me mad as they preach goodness and light out of one side of their mouths and direct evil to be done out of the other, I'm looking at you Nancy Pelosi, Josh Gottheimer and Tommy Tuberville. Because not afraid to judge my own side of the aisle like some are.

While this sounds great, I hope it is done fairly. It's been time.

And I've got to admit, my partial side eye may just be that it's coming from a man who is openly going to gain financially from his political positions. However, this isn't inherently a bad thing, it just very easily can become a slippery slope.

Lot of politicians get rich through legitimate seeming deals through supporters
One supporter sells you property under market, another supporter buys it from you over market and you make a huge profit and they get whatever their needs filled
Pelosi's has forever been justly accused of insider trading, obviously these people have insider information on how Congress is going to act and how it will affect certain sectors of the stock market

The dropping Tesla stock has to figure into this in some way.

Arrange for the stock drop in price, buy up a bunch of it and because you are already really wealthy, let it sit around for a year or two til all this Tesla stupidity is over and you just made a gold mine.

Musk isn't worried about Tesla stock, he paid back the money he borrowed on Tesla by selling X to xAI, now his Tesla stock is free and clear. Musk is going to make a ton of money on government and military contracts, all those liberal funds owning Tesla are the ones need to call off the dogs, before their state pensions and retirement funds lose their ass

I was not referring to Musk, I know he doesn't care, if he did he would have already been doing whatever. I was referring to the already wealthy Congress, Senate, and others who, also helped to create this situation, will then take advantage of it as they can afford to sit on the stock until it most certainly goes back up.
