CHANDLER, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A man has been arrested for a Chandler sexual assault that occurred more than 25 years ago.
On November 8, 1991, a young woman was kidnapped at gunpoint and sexually assaulted at an apartment complex near Dobson and Frye roads.
The police report gives the grim details of the crime. Police say that after the suspect forced his way into the woman's apartment, he held her at gunpoint before he bound, gagged and blindfolded her. He then reportedly cut off her clothes with scissors. The police report states that the suspect then assaulted her for two hours before releasing her. Police also say he videotaped the acts.

At the time, a composite sketch was released and evidence was collected but no arrests were made.

That keen mind of yours at work @caitierig ! Good catch and question!

In Arizona, there is no statute of limitations for murder or violent sexual assault -- meaning, someone may be prosecuted for these types of offenses regardless of whether the crime was committed one year ago or forty years ago. Other felonies generally carry a seven-year statute of limitations.

In Arizona (as well as neighboring California), crimes involving public money or public records have no statutes of limitation. For comparison's sake, Colorado's treason statute also has no statute of limitations.

statute of limitations are divided into federal and state categories.

One more damning tidbit for Mr. Young:

Acts During Which Statute Does Not RunAbsent from state or no reasonably ascertainable residence in state; identity not known

Good to know! Kind of sad that there’s a statute on rape, but if you get beaten during the commission of a rape then there isn’t one.

Don't forget the rotten, snake-mean disposition!
I wonder if he lived alone? I can imagine he was a quick-tempered, surly, abusive sob that lived in his recliner, laughing loudly at racist jokes, threatening to shoot any damn immigrant who came on his property, stared at every woman's chest, and had some vicious untrained dogs who liked to bite people.
Probably slept on a bare mattress when he got off the stained lounger.
