Taylor M. Miller, 26, of Montpelier, has been charged with battering his infant son.

According to an affidavit, a Montpelier police officer on Sept. 22 was contacted by an Indiana Department of Child Services official, who had earlier been advised of the child's injuries by officials with the Alabama Department of Human Resources.

That document said the baby had been admitted to an Alabama hospital "for injuries" while his family was vacationing in that state.

In Blackford County, affidavits stemming from that Alabama interview were sealed at the request of County Prosecutor Kevin Basey, who reported they contained information that could "detrimentally affect and harm the interests of the state of Indiana."
