WYANDOTTE, MI -- Kevin Sketoe, 44, of Wyandotte, faces two charges of assault and battery after police say he forcibly kissed a 15-year-old girl he met near a park Saturday.

Sketoe later told jail employees he has two contagious diseases, hepatitis C and tuberculosis, which prompted them to notify the victim to seek medical testing.

As of Thursday, Wyandotte Police inspector James Pouliot said the department didn't know the result of the victim's tests.

He is accused of approaching the victim and her 15-year-old friend in the park and asking both teens to party, Pouliot said. One girl agreed to accompany him to a nearby 7-Eleven.

“They stopped on Biddle Avenue and he reached over and grabbed her by the face and kissed her, tongue and all,” Pouliot said. “She pushed away, and he basically did it again.”

The greatest risk to her is tuberculosis. That can be spread by someone coughing in the air you are breathing. Hep C is transmitted through blood to blood contact. That risk is relatively low. I doubt he would be walking around and partying if he had active TB. He wouldn't have the energy to do much more than go from bed to the bathroom and back to bed. Inactive TB is not contagious.
 
Unless he has an open sore in his mouth, and she in turn has one as well.. She most likely will not get the Hep.
