A Colorado dentist allegedly flew nearly 2,000 miles to Florida to have sex with a single mom and her 9-year-old daughter after drooling: “I would sooo love to be a part of that.”

Dr. Jason James Atha, 50, had child porn and sex paraphernalia on him when he was nabbed last Friday after flying for the planned hookup in West Palm Beach, federal prosecutors said.

Atha had been grooming the mom — who was actually an undercover agent — on an online chatroom since last October after she posted that she would give her elementary-age daughter sex toys during playtime, according to a federal indictment obtained by the Palm Beach Post.

The way the headline was, I at first thought he flew 2,000 miles to have sex with HIS mom. Which is just as disgusting as the scenario actually presented here.

And what type of parent names their kid "Jason James". That is way too redundant of a first/middle name combination. "Jason" already cancels out "James" way too much, and vice verse. Do you want your kid to grow up to be a bland, doughy, unremarkable white guy... who wants to bang 9-year-olds? Giving your son the names of Jason James is almost as ridiculous as someone having two right hands, and two rights definitely make a wrong here.

Something like Jason Gregory would have been better. Or Jason Bartholomew. Or, much better, would be the full name of Jason Excelsior Demetrius Wolfgang Charlamagne Zydrunas Atha. Call him "Jed" for short.

I have not visited a dentist since, heck, years before the Hot New Pandemic came to town. If and when I do visit one for my once-a-decade checkup (since I'm a complete dental loser), I hope (s)he isn't attracted to nine-year-olds.

Once had my teeth cleaned by a short, 'well endowed', dental hygienist.
Only once though... Had to fight the urge to have my teeth cleaned twice a day... three times on Saturday.

A Colorado dentist who flew to West Palm Beach in hopes of having sex with a child will spend more than a decade in federal prison for the crime.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon sentenced Jason James Atha to 15 years Tuesday for traveling with child pornography and attempted child enticement, charges to which Atha pleaded guilty in December. The penalty is five years more than Atha's lawyer asked for and five years fewer than prosecutors did.

"It's not the sentence we hoped for, but it was fair," said defense attorney Anthony Solis.

Following his release from prison, Atha, 52, must register as a sex offender and will be subject to a lifetime of supervised release. That entails computer restrictions, no contact with children, unannounced searches of his home and required sex offender treatment.

Prior to his arrest, Atha's "about me" section on the website of Alpine Dentistry, the office in Colorado where he worked since 2001, said Atha traveled every summer to North Carolina to perform free dental work for children and adults who would otherwise go without.
