Of course he's the fucking track coach-what better chance to see them in tiny shorts? A female student reported to school officials that Carlson contacted a female high school students and asked for inappropriate pictures through social media, the school district said in a statement released Tuesday.

Several female Mayfield students were victims and it happened over a course of several months. Persistent little fucker, isn't he? Carlson submitted his resignation Wednesday and the board is expected to formally accept his resignation during its regular meeting Tuesday night.

A Cuyahoga County grand jury handed up an indictment against a former Mayfield Middle School teacher accused of sexual misconduct against several of his former students and athletes. Daniel Carlson, 35, of Highland Heights, is charged with 10 counts of illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, three counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor, four counts of importuning, two counts of compelling prostitution, two counts of extortion and a single count of tampering with evidence.

The incidents happened between Sept. 2019 and June 2021 and involved eight victims, seven female and one male, ranging in age from 14 to 17 years old. Carlson, who also served as the high school girls track coach, is scheduled for his initial court appearance Aug. 19. He is out of the Cuyahoga County Jail after posting 10 percent of his $20,000 bond June 10. Carlson submitted his resignation June 2. The school board accepted Carlson’s resignation June 8th. Carlson broke a tablet and threw it into Lake Erie before authorities came and got him at his home the same day he resigned.The school declined to make a statement Friday afternoon about the case.

Mayfield High School officials reported to police on April 26 about an incident involving a student receiving inappropriate messages from Carlson on social media. A girl filed a report with Highland Heights police May 29 after Carlson solicited her for sexual material on social media. Highland Heights police investigated with help from Mayfield Heights police and Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Soon, others contacted authorities with similar allegations.

The investigation revealed that Carlson used fake usernames on different social media platforms to chat with some of his former students and athletes. His office also said that Carlson sent money and gift cards, totaling thousands of dollars, to the victims in exchange for sexually explicit photos and videos.

Carlson threatened two victims that he would expose them on social media or call the police on them to embarrass them as a way to get them to continue sending photos and videos. Carlson’s attorney, Robert Botnick, said on Friday that he has yet to receive a copy of the indictment but said he is looking forward to reviewing the evidence against his client and moving forward with the court process.
