CNN’s top boss, Jeff Zucker, resigned from the network Wednesday after he didn’t disclose a romantic relationship with another senior executive at the company.

Zucker, who has helmed the cable network for nine years, told colleagues in a memo that his relationship with CNN’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer Allison Gollust came up during a probe into Chris Cuomo’s alleged sexual misconduct.

“As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s tenure at CNN, I was asked about a consensual relationship with my closest colleague, someone I have worked with for more than 20 years,” Zucker wrote in the memo, shared on Twitter by CNN’s chief media correspondent Brian Stelter.

“I acknowledged the relationship evolved in recent years,” he wrote. “I was required to disclose it when it began but I didn’t. I was wrong. As a result, I am resigning today.”

Gollust, who previously worked as former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s communications director, released a statement confirming the relationship.

CNN facing calls to fire Brian Stelter for not exposing Zucker-Gollust affair

CNN is facing calls to fire its chief media correspondent, Brian Stelter, for not exposing the ongoing romantic relationship between Jeff Zucker and senior executive Allison Gollust.

Stelter, 36, the network’s top media reporter and host of its “Reliable Sources” Sunday show, either dropped the ball by not exposing Zucker and Gollust or showed a stunning lack of awareness by not being privy to their romance, a CNN insider fumed to the Daily Mail.

“The network needs to step up and fire Brian Stelter,” the unidentified source said. “He is allegedly our top media reporter — yet he failed to report on the scoop that everyone in the office knew. And if he wants to say he didn’t know, he is truly terrible at his job.”

I think it is more about how compromised all these people are and that their fear of being exposed made them look the other way for all the wring doing going on.

He was gone at the end of the year so this is nothing but show

Why he was not terminated for the abysmal ratings at the network along time ago is a bigger question - who did he have secrets on.

Yes let’s fire this man who was either unaware his coworkers were having sex or was aware and just ain’t a fucking snitch. Jesus Christ this is so absurd.

How is this "absurd", yet CNN (and MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC et al) spent four plus years telling us about RUSSIAN COLLUSION that ended up being at first unproveable and ultimately, completely fabricated? Supposedly Russian hookers peed on Trump, remember? Adam Schiff had "proof" we were told. Why no repercussions for lying about all of that, again FOR FOUR PLUS YEARS? CNN has done little to no actual reporting of the news in eons. They twist it, turn it and force the "news" to be whatever fits their agenda for the day. There is a reason that CNN and MSNBC cannot garner more than 100K viewers for some of their programming during peak news time. It's because they suck. As an organization and as people. They lied, but I don't remember anyone coming out and vilifying them for those reprehensible lies. I only remember when people started talking about "absurdity" of positions. And how certain racists are "allies" of certain racial groups, no matter what their own damn racist mouths say. As for Brian Stelter, he's the "media guy", remember? He supposedly reports on the media, as the media guy, for the media company, on a show called "Reliable Sources". And he has claimed since this broke that it was an "open secret" and that everybody at CNN knew. If one is going to put oneself in the position of being the "moral compass" of America, you'd better behave morally! It ain't about "snitching" but rather, it's about him refusing to "truth" that has him in trouble now. He did it ALL to himself and he has only himself to blame

Allison Gollust, CNN exec in affair with Zucker, resigns after probe finds ‘issues associated’ with Cuomo brothers

Allison Gollust, the CNN exec who had a relationship with former network head Jeff Zucker, has resigned from the network following an investigation into “issues associated with Chris Cuomo and former Governor Andrew Cuomo,” according to a memo from the company’s CEO.

“Based on interviews of more than 40 individuals and a review of over 100,000 texts and emails, the investigation found violations of Company policies, including CNN’s News Standards and Practices, by Jeff Zucker, Allison Gollust, and Chris Cuomo,” Jason Kilar, the chief marketing officer at CNN, wrote in a memo.

“I realize this news is troubling, disappointing, and frankly, painful to read. These are valid feelings many of you have.”
