An Illinois woman was busted Saturday for allegedly using a phony COVID-19 vaccine card with a glaring typo to travel to Hawaii, a report said.

The card allegedly submitted online to Hawaiian authorities by Chloe Mrozak, 24, misspelled Moderna as “Maderna,” according to court documents obtained by HawaiiNewsNow.

Mrozak flew into O’ahu on Aug. 23 and state investigators were tipped off to the suspicious document.

Investigators were initially unable to track down Mrozak because the hotel reservation she left with screeners turned out to be incorrect, court documents show.

But she was caught when she returned to the airport to fly out last weekend, the report said.

Mrozak was being held on $2,000 bail on accusations she falsified vaccine documents.

I’ve wondered how possible it would be to fake one of these (for a friend) but I’m sure it’s a lot easier when you actually have the handwriting skills of an adult. She’s kinda cute in a yuppie way though.

Show us your papers!

I get that some folks don't want the vaccine. I get that some folks think it's important. Hell I fully understand both sides of the issue, well... maybe... there are a few outrider theories that I just can't understand.

But really? We are making a business out of fake Covid cards?

HONOLULU (AP) — A Hawaii judge issued a bench warrant for an Illinois woman after she failed to appear for a virtual court hearing Wednesday following her arrest for an alleged fake COVID-19 vaccination card that misspelled Moderna as “Maderna.”

Judge Karin Holma said she would issue a $500 warrant for the 24-year-old woman’s arrest during a hearing on the case held via Zoom.

Deputy Hawaii Attorney General Kory Young said he was requesting the warrant even though the scheduled proceeding was a status hearing.

She was released without bail earlier this month on two misdemeanor counts of violating Hawaii’s emergency rules to control the spread of COVID-19.

It’s not clear if she hired an attorney. She hung up on an Associated Press reporter who asked her to comment on the allegations Wednesday.

The State of Hawaii has dropped the criminal charge against an Illinois woman who infamously tried to bypass the state’s Safe Travels program by uploading a phony vaccination card with the word “Maderna” written on it.
KITV4 first covered the story back in September 2021. The suspect, Chloe Mrozak, uploaded the card into the Safe Travels database with the word “Maderna” written on it twice instead of the proper spelling, “Moderna.”

Moderna was one of three major companies that developed COVID-19 vaccines during the height of the pandemic.
A judge issued a $500 bench warrant for Mrozak after she failed to appear to a virtual court hearing. But prosecutors dropped the charge 19 months later. The Hawaii Attorney General's Office says prosecutors dismissed the case in April 2023, after it determined seeking extradition would not be a sound use of state resources.

Stupid move overall, but is there any recourse she can take, given what has been learned of the vax in the past 2.5 years? It's a thought, I'm not disparaging anyone or anything, rather I'm speaking to what we've collectively learned since 09/2021 about the vax and it's efficacy. :nurse:

I had four Covid shots and still managed to get the damned thing. I’m not getting any more.
