George Floyd got EVERYTHING he deserved.
A 26-year-old man shot a 2-year-old boy who was sitting in a highchair. Benjamin Richardson of Lorain is charged with felonious assault in the shooting that happened shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday at a home on West 24th Street just south of West 21st Street. The child’s condition as of Thursday morning was not immediately available. Officers received a report that a child suffered a gunshot at the home, and when they arrived, they discovered the boy was shot in the head while sitting in his highchair. The initial statement from police does not say who contacted police after the suspected shooting.
Witnesses told police they saw Richardson, who is believed to be a relative of the child, near the home with a shotgun just before the shooting took place. Police took Richardson into custody while paramedics took the child to an undisclosed Cleveland-area hospital. Wednesday’s shooting marks the second time a child was harmed by a firearm in as many days. A 5-year-old Maple Heights boy died Tuesday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a still-unexplained incident.
