According to Izard County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Charley Melton, on Aug. 15, Caelan Hawk, 22, of Franklin was arrested for aggravated assault, a class D felony, first degree terroristic threatening, a class D felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, a class D felony, and third-degree domestic battery.

According to the report, the charges stem from an an incident that occurred on Old Larkin Road outside of Melbourne.

“During the course of the investigation, deputies were told that Hawk and the female victim had been arguing all day and that he had punched her in the face, pulled her to the ground, and put his hands around her throat,” the report stated.

Deputies said the victim was able to get away, and as she was leaving the area “she heard Hawk fire a gun.”

Hawk appeared in the Izard County Circuit Court on August 18.
