A Baltimore woman has been arrested and charged in the fatal stabbing of her husband inside a room at Johns Hopkins Hospital on Friday, Baltimore police and hospital officials said Saturday.

Anita Nicole Jones, 30, was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Christopher Yancey Sr., 33, police said.

Police were called to the world-famous East Baltimore hospital about 2:30 p.m. Friday after staff members heard a disturbance in a room in the hospital’s pediatric unit, entered and found the man suffering from a stab wound to the upper body, police said.

Police said the couple’s 14-year-old son was undergoing a minor procedure at the hospital, and that the boy’s mother and father were alone in a room when the stabbing occurred. Police said Jones emerged from the room and told hospital staffers that Yancey had cut himself.Yancey was pronounced dead shortly after he was discovered, police said.

Police said Jones left the hospital before officers arrived. No weapons were found at the scene.

An arrest warrant was later issued for Jones, and she was taken into custody Saturday.

in a statement, Kim Hoppe, a hospital spokeswoman, called the stabbing an “isolated incident.”

“At no time were patients, staff or other visitors in danger,” Hoppe said. “We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased. Since this is a police investigation, we must defer all inquiries to them.”

It marked the 281st homicide in Baltimore in 2017. That is a record pace.

I'm not sure how many are from Anita here, but she was 16 years old when she gave birth to the child that was in hospital when she went all stabby-stabby, so its possible how all of Christopher's kids was her's also. The family told WJZ, they had six children together and are still legally married but were living apart.

Yancey had nine children in total and one on the way with his current girlfriend. The brothers believe jealousy sparked the fight.

Just to do the math, for the past 12 years Christopher Yancey was sentenced to a total of 18 fucking years in prison, but actually only spent 22 days total in police lock-up. Christopher's criminal history is not unique, I been following the murder trend in Baltimore closely since 2008 and many, if not the majority, of those murdered would have been in prison at the time of their murder if judges weren't giving out suspended sentences the way I hand out candy on Halloween, generously and without a care.

I decided to check up the criminal history of two of Christopher Yancey's brother (btw, has anyone noticed that last names often don't match?). Anyways, both Paul and Vernon Ray, has followed in their older brother's footsteps. Both have numerous arrest, including assaults, armed robberies and drug processions with intent to distribute. Vernon was actually convicted in April 2017 and sentenced to 4 years in prison, with all suspended except time served in pre-trial detention (6 months). So, just the same turd parade through the court system as their brother "Chubby".

Anita Nicole Jones was sentence to 13 years, the maximum for Manslaughter. Below is the press release from the Baltimore State's Attorney Office.

Woman Who Fatally Stabbed Husband at Johns Hopkins Receives Maximum Sentence

Baltimore (November 20, 2020) - Yesterday, Anita Nicole Jones was handed down the maximum sentence of 13 years to the Maryland Division of Correction for the October 2017 fatal stabbing of her husband. A Baltimore City jury returned guilty verdicts after the trial on January 9, 2020 convicting Jones of Manslaughter and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon Openly with Intent to Injure.

Assistant State’s Attorney Adam Lane Chaudry prosecuted this case.

On October 13, 2017, Baltimore City Police Department Officers responded to the Johns Hopkins Hospital Bloomberg Building 9 North for initial reports of a suicide. Preliminary investigation revealed that Anita Nicole Jones along with the victim, identified as Jones’ husband Christopher Yancey, Sr. were inside an Intensive Care Unit hospital room on the floor with the door to the room shut. Per witness accounts, no one else was inside of the room nor were any disturbances heard or movements observed coming from the room.

Both Jones and Yancey were present at Johns Hopkins Hospital because one of their children was undergoing an emergency surgical procedure. At approximately 12:47 PM, Jones was observed running out of the hospital room, yelling to Hospital personnel that the victim cut himself. Hospital personnel immediately activated a medical code alert and responded inside the room, finding Yancey on the floor unresponsive from two apparent stab wounds in his neck area. Despite medical intervention, Yancey succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Pursuant to the investigation, investigators learned that Jones informed hospital personnel that she and Yancey had a verbal dispute while inside of the hospital room. Jones also made a statement to the hospital personnel that she did not actually see Yancey injure or cut himself. Witness accounts noted seeing blood on Jones’ hand and outer clothing. Jones repeated similar statements to family members responding to the hospital that Yancey had cut himself.

Video footage later obtained from Johns Hopkins security captured Jones walking outside the hospital within minutes after the medical code alert for Yancey was initiated. Jones was captured on video walking to a garbage can located on Orleans Street, reaching into her pocket, and depositing an unknown object into the garbage can. Unfortunately, the video was discovered shortly after the trash was emptied in the can.

Additionally, Detectives were able to identify and recover a recorded jail call placed to Jones’ cellphone from an inmate at a correctional institution within fourteen minutes before the code alert was activated. Jones was recorded on the telephone call ranting for nearly thirty minutes about her frustrations with Yancey and stated at one point in the call that she was going to really going to hurt him.
