The Killeen Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a five-year-old. The young boy had been shot in the head, according to police.
Officers with the Killeen Police Department were dispatched Alan Kent Drive around 11:22 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive five-year-old.
The child had a gunshot wound to the head.
EMS arrived shortly after the initial officers and all first responders attempted life-saving measures on the child, according to police.
The child was pronounced dead at 12:03 p.m.
An autopsy has been ordered for an official cause of death.
The Killeen Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is conducting an investigation into this incident.
