Aaron Guilliams, 31, shot and killed his wife Sunday during an argument, according to St. Charles County prosecutors, who charged him with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Police found 34-year-old Crystal Hanshew dead with a gunshot wound to her face just before midnight Sunday inside the couple's home in the 3100 block of Ridgeview Drive.

Guilliams told police that while he and Hanshew argued in the hallway of their home, she was "flailing her arms" and struck him in the face.

He then went to their bedroom and retrieved a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol and confronted his wife. Guilliams told Hanshew he never should have married her and pointed the gun at her face. Hanshew said he wouldn't pull the trigger and Guilliams then fired, fatally wounding his wife, according to the probable cause statement.
