No information has been released about the breeds or size of any of the dogs.
Here are examples of dogs, but dollars to donuts, Hand Banana is the yellow dog in the middle.

Southern Arizona
"A woman was killed and a man was left in critical condition from a dog attack in Sierra Vista on Friday morning, according to the Sierra Vista Police Department.

Officers responded to the area after reports of a dog attack in the alley between Meadowlark Drive and Calle Del Norte. When officers arrived at the area, they found a dog attacking a man, later identified as Sam Sanches Jr., 53, in the backyard of a house on Calle Del Norte. Officers then killed the dog and provided first aid before emergency medical assistance arrived, according to a police news release."

Sanches is in critical condition from his injuries.

"Police also found a woman, later identified as Helene Jackson, 84, who was attacked by a dog in the alley behind the house on Calle Del Norte. Police say another dog returned to the same yard where the first dog attack happened.

That dog was also killed by police. "

"Jackson was brought to the Canyon Vista Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead from her injuries."

"Police also said Jackson's dog was found dead in the alley where she was located at the time of the dog attack. They did not specify how her dog was killed,"

I'ma take a stab in the dark and guess it (they? 2 dogs attacked people right?) was a pitbull/pitbull mix. I don't hate the breed, I mean I'll NEVER have one ever again, but yeah, I bet it was those.

What happened with your pit bull situation?!

I adopted a young pitbull pup from someone selling them on the side of the road, they even had the dad there. Named her Sasha. I got her all her shots and started taking her to the dog park regularly, immediately. Got her spayed several months later. She was perfectly socialized with other dogs no matter what gender or size.

I had an old lab mix about 10 years old, Precious (also spayed), and she would every so often snap at Sasha because she would rub her face/snout on Precious' face, and she clearly didn't like it. Sasha always stood down and seemed remorseful. I'm pretty sure she was just trying to be affectionate but my ol' girl wasn't having it.

Once she hit a year old and was full grown, I watched as she once again rubbed her face on my Precious' face and my she snapped at her, as always. This time Sasha went fucking OFF, brutally attacked Precious for over 10-15 minutes while I tried everything to get her to stop. She would not release her grip on her. At one point my roommate pulled her off of Precious, but her leg was so fucked up she couldn't walk and I wasn't able to get her inside fast enough before Sasha broke from the roommate's grip and latched back onto her. Somehow I finally got them separated. Precious was bruised dark purple and prescribed pain medication, it was really bad.

After that incident, she tried to attack ANY other dog she ever got near, except for my miniature pinscher. Couldn't go to the dog park, couldn't walk her near anyone with a dog and had to keep her separated from my lab permanently, like a switch flipped or something. I did everything to socialize her consistently from a young age, introduced her to other dogs on neutral territory, literally everything I could to ensure she wouldn't be a typical in-the-news pitbull that hated other dogs. I don't know what happened.

I ended up surrendering her to the humane society. My lab was old, only ever knew me and had health issues, she'd have been euthanized guaranteed. My pitbull was just over a year old, and a great dog besides hating other dogs. They put her up for adoption with the stipulation "Must be the only dog in home" and she was adopted after a few months. It fucking broke my heart to have to leave her in that kennel, it hurts to think about to this day still, I truly adored her. But I had no choice after what happened. I know I did everything I could to try and prevent that situation but it still happened for seemingly no reason, and that just terrifies me of thinking I could get another one who could end up potentially hurting another dog and getting so bonded only to have to give them up in the end, I just can't go through that again.

Only theory I've heard is that "maybe she was from a fighting line" but I'm not sure if that's even possible or what. All I know is I took every precaution and it still ended up like that. Have never had an issue like that with any other breed I've ever had before. I love pitbulls, beautiful, sweet dogs. But that whole thing just kinda traumatized me. Sorry for the novel lol. I'm very detail-oriented. No worries about all the questions, I genuinely enjoy answering.

Oh, poor Precious. That had to be horrid to see

There are few decisions in our life that are cleanly clearcut, otherwise they wouldn't be decisions.

Of course you did the right thing, but those gray areas haunt us, and we can be unkind to ourselves because of all the spaces and what is? in there that we can't possibly know the chances for positive outcomes
Maybe you should have built a second house and kept one in each?! Maybe it's because of the time you closed the bathroom door!? :penguin:

But clearly, you had affection for Sacha. A difficult action to need to take.

She's so lucky she was adopted, there are so many Pit Bulls in shelters.
Now she can run around on her own, her feelings won't get hurt, she won't be around other dogs and get cross. Who wants to be upset all the time?

You were kind of a foster parent, in essence. Until the right fit was found.

But that sudden change, that's chilling. And the fear people have.
I don't have a lot of experience with dogs, so they all make me nervous. Usually.

Luckily Precious recovered well. She lived another almost 2 years after that.

I know Sasha's very lucky to have been adopted. I actually lied a lil when I surrendered her, I said the landlord at the house we were moving into didn't allow her breed, but that she didn't like other dogs. I didn't wanna add to her already enormous risk to be euthanized. I checked the humane society's website every day after to see she was okay. Her goofy personality made her a favorite at the facility with the employees. After awhile of not being adopted, they lowered her adoption price. Soon after that the corner of her photo said "ADOPTED". It was bittersweet.

I hope she's lived a long fulfilling life since. I know whatever happened didn't mean she was a malicious animal, something just snapped I guess.

I never looked at it from the foster angle before. Makes me feel better than how I've usually felt, like a mother figure that was forced to abandon her and she had no idea why. I like foster better

From her obituary
Helene will be remembered for her enthusiasm for life, her diligence for righting wrongs and her beautiful smile.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to support homeless shelters and for the benefit of animals.
