A 16-year-old girl is accused of killing her baby girl by slashing the newborn's neck. Sources tell 7 Action News that the teen then tried to cover up the killing by putting her baby's body in her bedroom closet.

So far, the teen has not been charged with any crime, but Detroit Police said they have submitted a warrant request to prosecutors.

Details are now emerging in the disturbing case that unraveled in February when the teen's own mother rushed her to the hospital when she passed out.

he teen's mother reportedly thought she was having menstrual problems, but then doctors told her that her daughter had given birth to a baby.

Sources said the teen denied giving birth. But when the teen's mother returned home to look around, we're told she found the newborn baby girl dead in a closet.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner said the infant died from multiple cuts to her neck and her death has been ruled a homicide.

Sources tell 7 Action News that the teenager's mother did not know she was pregnant.

I don't wanna hear how scared she was, or didn't know what to do.
Monster cut a babies throat open, then sat there letting life drain out of an innocent.
Put her in an electric chair.

Would love to know how she hid being knocked up though.
 
I had a friend whose daughter was pregnant for 7 months before we found out. She was a bigger girl and apparently hid it well. HOWEVER, if I didn't have to buy feminine products for my teenage daughter for several months, red fucking flags would be going off. Maybe these girls pretended to have a period. I don't know. The entire scenario is shady and sad as hell. Good news is, my friend's daughter didn't kill her newborn. He was adopted.

I bought my own from my allowance. It never occurred to me to ask my mother to buy it for me.

Excellent point, then the "I didn't know I was pregnant" excuse is useless.
 
Being young & scared is never an excuse for killing your newborn- this girl had 9 months to figure out an alternative to murder.

1 quick google search would have let her know that she could’ve surrendered her baby anonymously & with no questions asked!

There is a version of Infant Safe Haven law in all 50 states & it allows a reluctant, scared new mother to safely & anonymously hand over their baby with no questions asked at any hospital, police, or fire station

And if that doesn’t seem easy enough, they can simply dial 911 & have the baby picked up- it’s easier than ordering a pizza!

In this girl’s home state, Michigan Safe Haven laws even has a clause that gives parents 28 days to change their mind & regain custody if they choose!

It’s really an awesome law that caters to mothers who find themselves in a desperate situation & gives them a fool proof way to do the right thing- whether that be surrender their baby & never look back or put their baby in safe hands while they decide how they’d like to proceed.

No matter how young, scared or desperate- there’s always a better way:

My then 16 yo sister hid her pregnancy for 6 months. She was on the heavier side at the time. I had gone away to college during that time so I didn't know and our parent's weren't exactly attentive.
 
I hung around with a girl who hid being pregnant and then killed her baby. She left the baby outside and no one found the baby for three days. I saw this girl the whole pregnancy, had no clue, she changed for gym, no one knew. No one even thought it could be her. She didn't get caught until five years later when she told the father of the baby and he told on her. She was really thin, she didn't even wear baggy clothes that I remember.
 
Anyone who is curious her name is Kelli Moye. The town named the baby Angelica Faith. Her parents helped (along with a lot of others) organize the babies funeral. Kelli served less than two years and had kids now

i remember the interview. its on youtube i think. you feel sympathetic right up until the baby is born and then you feel cold. because thats where she starts lying.
