Essence Revely and Kamille Hibbitt
33-year-old Kamille Hibbitt is charged with felonious assault and child endangerment following the hospitalization of a seven-year-old boy suffering from severe injuries.
Hibbitt is charged with felonious assault and child endangerment following the hospitalization of a seven-year-old boy suffering from severe injuries.
Police say Hibbitt brought the boy to the hospital on October 14, with hospital staff telling police the boy was unconscious and covered in bruises.
A criminal complaint further alleges that the boy's core temperature was just 85 degrees, his sodium level was significantly lower than normal and he had no pulse in his legs.
Additionally, the complaint alleges that the boy weighed 29 pounds, a significant weight loss from the 44 pounds he had weighed the previous year.
Hibbitt allegedly told hospital staff she delayed seeking care for him because she was afraid she would be accused of abuse due to the bruises.
The boy was last reported to be in critical, but stable condition.
In addition, Hibbitt is also charged with misdemeanor child endangerment in connection with a case from March of 2024, when police say the same child was seen running outside in 30-degree weather with no shoes on begging neighbors for food.

When interviewed by detectives, the complaint stated that Hibbitt told them the child had been throwing himself on the floor and that she treated bruises around his eyes with ice. Hibbitt said she supplemented the boy’s diet with Ensure and protein powder, but stopped when she ran out of food benefits. She said she placed him in a shower after a seizure, and she thought he had a brain bleed or concussion, but she still refused to seek treatment because she was afraid she would get accused of child abuse because of his bruises.
Essence Revely told detectives she has been friends with Hibbitt for more than 20 years, and some of the child’s injuries happened while he was in her care. She said she applied ice for bruises but never sought treatment for him, the complaint said.
The complaint said Revely was also afraid to seek treatment for the boy because she was afraid she or Hibbitt would be accused of child abuse.
Police got a warrant to search Hibbitt’s home, and Revely was told to stay out, but she got inside and did some cleaning, the complaint said. The complaint said Revely told police she thought Hibbitt would be home later, “and she didn’t want Kamille to have to come home and clean.”
The complaint also said they found evidence of cleaning “of areas later determined to contain biological material,” and an air mattress that appeared to be in a child’s room was wet and stained with blood.
