A 5-year-old and 14-year-old girl are injured after their fathers, overcome with road rage, allegedly shot at each other's cars on Saturday.
William Joseph Hale, 35, and Frank Gilliard Allison, 43, were both driving with their families when the chaos broke out on U.S. 1 in Callahan, Florida. Hale drove a Dodge Ram with five occupants and Allison drove a Nissan Murano with three people inside, according to Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper.
"They were both speeding and driving recklessly northbound in Jacksonville and then into Nassau County on U.S. 1, brake checking and trying to cut each other off," Leeper told Newsweek. "They obviously didn't like the way the other one was driving so they were both acting like idiots."

In arrest reports for the two drivers, witness Roger Harvey described the scene as a "cat and mouse" game. Harvey called 911, saying Hale and Allison were driving so erratically that he "knew something bad was going to happen."

Hale told police that he rolled down his front passenger window and yelled at Allison to pull over. In response, Allison said his wife "flicked off" the other car with her middle finger. The next moment, a plastic water bottle was thrown into Allison's car.
At that point, Allison grabbed his Sig Saur 45-millimeter handgun and fired at the back of the Dodge Ram before speeding away. His shot entered the back passenger door and struck Hale's 5-year-old daughter in the leg.

When Hale realized his daughter was shot, he chased after the Nissan Murano and fired several rounds from a Glock 9-millimeter gun. Three rounds hit the Nissan and one ripped through the rear of the car, hitting Allison's 14-year-old girl in the back and causing her lung to collapse.
Both men pulled over when a sheriff's deputy arrived. They argued with each other and started fighting until the deputy broke them up, said Leeper. Hale and Allison have each been charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder.

The two children were transported to a hospital in Jacksonville. The 5-year-old had non-life-threatening injuries and the 14-year-old initially had critical injuries but is expected to survive.

"Thankfully, no one was killed in this incident, but it could have very easily turned out that way," Leeper said. "There could have been two dead kids because of two stupid grown men."

Damn, I didn't know Sig made artillery.
Ethan Crumbley used a Sig Sauer

Someone please tell me these kids have been removed from the home and the wives have both filed for divorce.

Self defence is bs. They shot and then took off. He chased them to shoot back. There are both so fucking reckless and stupid it boggles the mind.

They both 100% deserved prison time and its pathetic that the charges were dropped.

Prosecutors have decided to drop charges against one of two men who shot each other’s daughters during a road-rage incident in Florida because he acted in self-defense – while the other driver faces three counts of attempted murder.
Frank Allison, 44, and William Hale, 36, opened fire at each other’s vehicles during an October gun battle in which Allison’s 14-year-old daughter and Hale’s 5-year-old daughter were hit.

The younger girl was struck in the leg and the teen was shot in the back, leaving her with a collapsed lung.
Both men were originally charged with attempted murder, but prosecutors have determined that Allison’s first shot was a justifiable use of force because Hale was the primary aggressor, WTLV reported.

Hale tried to run Allison — who was driving a Nissan Murano with two passengers — off Highway 1 near Calahan with his Dodge Ram pickup truck, which had four passengers, police said.
At one point, Hale drove alongside the Murano, rolled down his window and began shouting at Allison to pull over as Hale’s wife made an obscene gesture.
Allison rolled down his window to shout back when a plastic water bottle was thrown from the truck into the SUV, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.

A witness told police that Hale was the aggressor and that he tried to run Allison off the road.

The SUV driver fired a semiautomatic handgun at the Ram, hitting Hale’s daughter, who was sitting in the back seat, and then sped off, police said.

When Hale realized the girl was hit, he sped closer to the SUV and began firing several rounds from his semiautomatic — one of which struck the 14-year-old girl.

Does this mean these fucktards get their guns back???? Probably it’s Florida….

ALSO; charges are dropped against the one guy because a WATER BOTTLE was thrown at his car first???? That is a wild overreaction and they should both be in jail.

These blank-faced embodiments of gormless averageness and spiritless mediocrity are among the worst girl dads of history.

It's just not worth it to get that angry while driving. In any other context, these two men would never cross paths again. But their egos got in the way, and they wounded each others' families.

How will either dad regain the respect of their wives and daughters, if that is even possible? They precipitated their own daughters' harm, which is the exact opposite of what a parent is morally bound to do.

they will never regain the respect. once its gone its gone forever. one of the families will end up murder suicide.

I think the seriousness of the injury to Allison's daughter is probably why the charges against Hale were not dropped as well.

Allison should not have had his charges dropped either.

@Symmachus

Both these men failed their daughter's horribly. But I will say neither of these girls will probably ever engage in road rage when they begin driving.
